Senoia, Racing Heaven!

The BOUNTY GROWS, Drivers come out and WIN Big!

The New Senoia Raceway has been the place to be on Saturday nights in Georgia, for fast racing action and great FOOD!.

This weekend was what was billed as a “REGULAR” show, but there is nothing regular about racing at Senoia.

The surface was amazing, it was just right and almost every driver was praising the way the way the track was, it was in the best shape ever.

All the thanks goes to Jack Mills, Tony and Tim Moses who work hard to bring the fans in Georgia some of the greatest racing shows at Senoia raceway.

The Hobby race was the showcase race of the night, with a $100 dollar bounty on Scott Sherrer and his #41 car. Winning this money from him was going to take some outstanding driving by his competitors.

Scott on this night was racing with a heavy heart as on Friday night he had lost a close friend and so he did not really know if he would race Saturday night or stay home, but once he got to Senoia and strapped his racing helmet on, all he knew was to do what he does best and that was WIN. And in the interview after his race his dedicated that race to his friend who he had just lost.
Scott Sherrer is a pure class act.

Sherrer brought his #41 car to the track knowing that a BOUNTY was on him, which in racing is almost like saying the driver is the best and you have to beat him legally and not intentionally try and take him out of a race. If you do you collect an extra $100 dollars, if he wins, he collects an extra $50 added on to his nightly winnings. In return the bounty is then placed at $150 until he is beaten in a legal race.

Well the Hobby race started the action at Senoia raceway and everyone was ready, Sherrer had to start in the back, which meant he had to work for his win, and let me tell you it was not easy as every driver wanted the cash. Knowing this Scott showed his driving skills and he raced to the front even when he had to get bumped a little, I mean this was flat out Southern style Georgia Dirt track racing at its best and everyone was not letting him win, he would have to fight for this win.

His main rival was #4 of Mike Parker, who has been a thorn in Sherrer’s side, meaning he tries never to give him an inch of racing clay.
This again was a night of push and shove, side to side door to door, bumper to bumper racing at its best. And it was just what the fans had ordered, a real pure out racing show. This is why Senoia Raceway is back and everyone is happy to be there.

Like I said Scott fought off Mike Parker for a close win, but it never mattered as Sherrer crossed in front of the grandstand with a double checkered flag waving over his #41 race car.

The fans were on their feet as his car came to a stop where he could unbuckle and pay his thanks to the crowds and dedicate the race to a friend who had just passed away. After handing a youngster a toy car, he drove his car to the infield where it was announced that there was a protest between Mike Parker against Scott’s car, it never mattered because Scott tore his car down, and Mike Parker had to tear his down in the end it was Scott Sherrer who was found legal and Mike Parker was found illegal. So like it or not the bounty has grown to $150 next weekend IF YOU CAN BEAT SCOTT SHERRER, LEGALLY.

The Order of the Hobby finish was:

Winning #41 Scott Sherrer

In 2nd place was #M4 of Winford Minix
And in 3rd place was #32 Terry “Sunshine” Finnel
4th place was owned by #1J of Mike Jenkins
And in 5th place finished #4 Cory Potts
In 6th place was #20 Jay Connor
And being DQed was #4P of Mike Parker

That would lead us into the Modified Mini class race, where drivers come from everywhere.

In this race was #28 Ryan Heppner led almost all the laps, but starting on the pole was #3 of Allen Brewster, with his son #18 Heath Brewster.
Also in this race was #8 John Caldwell and #9 of Erik Hogsed.

This race was so exciting, but you know great drivers find a way to win. That is what #9 Erik Hogsed sat back and did. He was playing his “Cool hand”.
Even with Ryan Heppner showing he had the car to beat. Hogsed was not satisfied with just laying back so he charged to the front.
When Allen Brewster started to spin, he almost took out his son Heath, and that would open the door, and you know Erik was going to make use of his car.
So #9 young and talented Erik Hogsed took his white car and proved he is a winner at Senoia Raceway and again he was granted the interview and has become a fan favorite at New Senoia Raceway.

Then after qualifying of the Nesmith Crate cars, and then the Limited Late Models and showed what they could turn. With Matthew Turner in his #77 Crate cars set a new Senoia raceway qualifying record.

After qualifying, it was time for the B-Cadet feature race.

The drivers in this event showed up, like #11 T.J.Joiner, and #12 Gary Brand, also in the race was #25 of Bobby Slauson who was getting tied up in a batch of cars, who wanted to beat and bang on his car. Many other driver that were competing were #92 of Hank McNair, plus #T7 of Tim Bright and also #03 of Buck Williams, with #31 Lee Fuller. But the car that was there to beat was #3 of “The Magic Man” Big Jeff Carter, who has been racing for years and when this big man wins he puts on a show.

Senoia raceway was no different. Jeff never had one problem on the track, this night he had no tires going down, all he had was speed and confidence in his #3 B-Cadet Car.

The race was one that you had to witness, and it was a night where car #31 Lee Fuller almost took a front straight wall ride, or as I call it “Rim Riding”. It was at that point that Jeff Carter ran away from everyone and for the first time at Senoia raceway he would take the Double Checkered Flags grabbing his 1st win of the 2010 racing season, with more to come.
Look out boy’s Jeff Carter has been unleashed, and it going to be a wild ride.
The B-Cadet finishing order was:

Winning his 1st race at New Senoia Raceway #3 Jeff “The Magic Man” Carter.
Following him in 2nd place was #11 of T.J.Joiner
In 3rd place was #12 of Gary Brand
And coming in 4th was #25 of 30 year old Bobby Slauson, who is the newest rising star in the B-Cadet series.

PS) LOOK OUT WAFFLE HOUSE, THE BIG MAN COMES TO EAT!!, WITH HIS WHOLE CREW

Then the Senoia fans were treated to a super race featuring the NeSmith Crate Late Model drivers. Again, these men would go out and put on a show like no other. Drivers like Matthew Turner #77 would blister the track, and with #33 of Randy Hester. But this feature would show some real drivers in all out action on the track, for some reason last two weeks winner Tod Darda in his #91 car did not have the power like it did in the prior races at Senoia where Darda made his self known as a pure out Class Winner.
Then there was old favorite #55 Parish Duncan who has been around racing for years, and he has what it takes but maybe he needs just a little bit more.
Also racing was #88 of Matt Woodson, and #25 of Dustin Hendrix.

As soon as the green flag dropped it was all #77 of Matthew Turner, who was blazing his way around the track. Turner lead the way and following him close was #33 of driver Randy Hester.
Whenever the NeSmith boys are on the track you will see some fast action and let it be known that as a fan you were not upset because this was a super fast race, and at the end the double checkered flags were waving in the Senoia night over car #77 of Matthew Turner
.

The Official NeSmith Crate Car finish was:
Winning #77 Matthew Turner

In 2nd place #33 of Randy Hester
And in 3rd place was #91 Tod Darda

Then it was time to “Rock’n’roll” as the Topless Limited Late Models took to the track.

Drivers like #99 Rucker Orr were ready to put on a show and maybe capture his first race at Senoia raceway. Also racing in the show was #73 of “Racing” Jason Williams, plus #18C of Shane Criswell, who is always looking for a win. Then there was #33 of Brian Reese who had two cars racing, one in NeSmith Crate and of course he was racing in Late Model. #9 Shane Fulcher was back on the Senoia Speedway after winning the $2000 race last weekend, so he decided to return to capture some extra cash. This was not going to be Fulcher’s night at Senoia as he would get tangled up and wind up with a 6th place finish.
Also racing on this super night for racing was #27 of Glenn Morris, plus #27M of Spencer Mosely and that would leave #8 of David Burton.

When the green flag flew, it was #18C of Shane Criswell showing the way with #33 of Brian Reese close behind in 2nd place, and even closer was #99 of a winning driver with a huge racing background, Rucker Orr.

25 laps, of pure blazing excitement, where fans were standing and cheering their favorite driver on! It was racing like known other than Senoia has come to provide.

And at the end of a fantastic race, was blazing “Shane Criswell”, in his #18c car.
Close behind was a much improved driver #33 of Brian Reese, who also proved that he does not need to hit the wall like he did at old West Georgia Speedway. In 3rd place was #99 of Rucker Orr, who is getting his car dialed in and will soon be taking a checkered flag, you can’t keep Rucker down, he is like a “PIT BULL” and comes out every night to win.

So the Official order of finish for the Limited Late model cars was:

Winning #18C of Shane Criswell

In 2nd place was #33 of Brian Reese
And coming in 3rd was #99 of Rucker Orr

After all that excitement you would think the racing was over but hey let those Pure Mini Stock drivers show their stuff.

Car #4 was driven by young up and coming star Dusty Jones, who proved his #4 car would be the car to beat. Chasing Dusty would be #16 of Stephen Hill a real war hero and veteran. Then there was #D7 of Dorough Bright who never gives up a race without a fight. The car that I was watching was #00 of Matthew Black who won on April 17th at Senoia Speedway and this was the young gun that I thought could sneak by Dusty, but Matthew’s night was long and Dusty car could not be caught by Matt.

The Official Order of finish was:

Winning #4 Dusty Jones
In 2nd place was #00 of Matthew Black
And in 3rd place would be #16 of “Steaming” Stephen Hill who is a class act driver.
Finishing 4th was #J17 of Joe "The Toe" Spencer

Then it was time for the Weekend Warriors who always put on a show for all the racing fans, the Enduro race.

Drivers like #99 Mike Ray, “The elderly Spokesman”,
Plus #86 “Mr. Pappy Powell” who has been racing before some of these drivers were born. Every year Pappy renews his number every new birthday. You see Pappy is now 86 years young, and his car is #86, so next year Pappy’s car will age to #87, but as for now Pappy can drive with the best of the drivers, and he is never afraid of leaning on you are rubbing your car, he has always been out to win.

Also in the Enduro race were drivers like #44 Michael Nelms, #4x of Joseph Carter.

When the green flag dropped it was #99 of Mike Ray blazing a trail around the Senoia clay speedway with everyone in hot pursuit.

Ray was in a real battle it looked like because Pappy Powell was closing in on Ray, also in hot pursuit was #44 of Michael Nelms, so you see “THE ELDELY SPOKESMAN” From Riverdale Georgia was having to work for his Win, and his driving was superb.

At the end the checkered flag was flying high above Mike Ray’s car, and again this “White haired gentleman” was able to smile and get the attention from all the fans at Senoia Raceway. Every time he wins, he crawls out of his #99 car and has the biggest smile, as if he has just won the Daytona 500, or the Atlanta 500, he is just that type of driver and winning is something he does best.
Looks like Senoia Raceway may have to put a “Bounty” on Mike if he keeps winning.

In some sad racing news, we hear that young 14 year old super star Matt Dooley was involved in a major crash this weekend at Dixie Speedway with his #18 crate car barrel rolling 5 times down the track, where it came to a stop and Matt’s father Scott Dooley’s heart sank, in worry. Matt is Ok, he was taken to a hospital to be checked out but he is ok, and I know that all the prayers of race fans everywhere will go out his way. The car was demolished and has to be rebuilt, like I told his father, you can always replace a car, you can’t replace a son. Now will this hurt the young man, will he want to compete again that will be up to Matt himself, we can all wish him the best of racing luck.

Remember, cars can be replaced, but drivers can not, we hope Matt recovers soon and we wish him well from all Georgia race fans, and here at Plus Photography, so “Get well Matt”.

Many Thanks to everyone,

REGULAR SHOW , NEVER AT SENOIA RACEWAY

A REGULAR SHOW, COME ON!

When there is racing at the New Senoia Raceway and the schedule reads, this Saturday night is a regular show, there is nothing regular about racing at Senoia.

Sure there will not be any “Big Money” races or championships but that does not mean you are not going to be overwhelmed by the outstanding driving in all 7 feature races.

We will see “THE BOUNTY HUNT” on #41 Scott Sherrer, who has a $100 winning added to a drivers payout if he beats Scott legally and does not take him out intentionally from the race, LEGAL, get it drivers.

So drivers like #M4 of Winford Minix, #20 Jay Conner or #4P Mike Parker even #E1 of “Fast” Eddy Johnson will be racing to catch that extra $100 dollars on Scott. So look out, Hobby is going to get crazy, as the “Bulls eye is on Sherrer.

Also Mike Ray #99 will be back to defend his reign of winning on the track in the Enduro class my favorite group of warriors. Can he be beaten?

How about the Modified Mini Stock class? Last weekend was a wreck fest with Frank Long in his #07 getting tangled up and catching 3 other cars.

This would leave the door wide open, for #9 Eric Hogsed. Who every time he seems to get behind the wheel wins another race? Also racing were #3 Todd Brewster and his brother #18 Heath Brewster.

Eric was a great driver at 7 Flags Speedway in Sportsman before the doors closed on this historic race track.

What amazes me is the way everyone looks at a DVD of a race from the New Senoia Raceway and believes it is Douglasville’s 7 Flags Speedway, now you are getting some high praise.

When the B-Cadet cars roll out we know there will plenty of rock and roll action, I mean when you have drivers like Jeff Carter in his famous #3 and #22 William Blair, plus #12 of Gary Brand or a host of other drivers, which could include Blake Griffin if he chooses to race in B-Cadet, we will have one exciting race.

Never have I filmed a B-Cadet race that I was sorry about, I mean there is action all over the track, and if a car needs tires and the caution is out, you need to see the speed these crews and families can get tires on and off a car. It is amazing, just to watch that.

Needless to say next weekend the B-Cadet cars are running for $1000 dollars to WIN that will make the big men grow bigger.
Plan on being at the, New Senoia Raceway next weekend for the $1000 to win race.

One more driver I would not count out will be driving #25 and his name is Bobby Slauson, who was running hobby class but has moved up and is really getting the feel for the action. Sometimes a driver may fool you. As a fan you may think who is Bobby Slauson and the next thing you are reading about him in some NASCAR paper. “Strange” things do happen in life, don’t they?

Even the Pure Mini Stock, has plenty of racing action and I am not meaning crashes on every turn, these men are getting it on.

Take Norman Chambers “Bo” as he is known #54 who cruised to a win Saturday night.
He was followed by #D7 of Dorough Bright and others.

Also racing in the class was long time look alike of Dale Earnhardt Jr., Mr. Rocky Johnson in his #5 car last season he was #88 because of Dale Jr. Now he drives the #5 car and even though he runs in the back I being a writer do not think Rocky will stay back there because you have to remember this was his first race on the new Senoia race track. So I would give him time, before he learns every corner then look out.

Then it’s a crowd favorite when the NeSmith Crate cars fire their engines, and the sound make a tremble in the night air at Senoia.

The past 2 Saturday nights shows have found #91 Tod Darda winning, but this Saturday night could be different. A few new drivers will be at Senoia because they will be getting some track time because of the big $2000 to win race coming up on the 30th of May at Senoia Raceway.

So if I were Tod I would have my helmet tight as it will be a fast and furious night, in the NeSmith Crate race for the night.

We could have a new winner like #27 Doug Ludwig, or how about #55 Parrish Duncan or #16 Trey White.

I was hoping to see young Matt Dooley back but he must have other racing opportunities to uphold. Remember Matt is only 14 years old and has never cracked his car up yet, so be looking for this up and coming driver in his #18 crate car.

When the Limited Late Model show starts, that is when all eyes are ready for some of the best southern racing in the south.

Drivers like #99 of Rucker Orr, #27 Glenn Morris, #6 Chad Marchman, #25 Scott Duffy, plus #T11 of Troy Tyson not to mention #73 of “Racing” Jason Williams or all putting it on the line for the fans at Senoia Raceway. They are giving it their all to put on one great late model show, so we all should cheer and wave to these drivers as they round the track in front of the flag stand.

One driver I know we will not see is the famous #G1 of Glenn McWaters, whose car ended up on its side when the green flag flew Saturday night and there became an 8 car pile up.
Rucker Orr, Scott Duffy and Jason Williams plus some extra cars made it through the mass of metal.

The clean up took so much time that this weekend we are going to see someone who moves cars for a living try his hand and that is B-Cadet racing star #3 Jeff Carter. Carter has his own Towing Company, called “Carter’s Wrecker Service” and he tows BIG THINGS, he will be driving one of Jacks Tow trucks and lets see how fast the action on the track can get cleared.

So folks get ready for some great action this weekend and even though it says “REGULAR SHOW” that does not mean anything, no show at the new Senoia raceway is “Regular”.

Also when coming to Senoia Raceway, forget about the food on the way, because if you like great food and affordable food, check out the great, tasty and not overpriced food at the concession stand.

There you will find not only friendly folks to help you with your meal, you will maybe get a glimpse of Mark Mills, Jack Mills Son-in-law, who has been in the food industry for years and knows what good food is and wants the fans to be happy.

So when you think Racing, you can also think good food at the south’s top dirt track Senoia Raceway.

Also we all need to thank Tony and Tim Moses and Jack Mills for bringing back high quality racing at the New Senoia Raceway, please come down and see some racing action.

Thanks to Everyone,

Tino Patti

HOBBY BOUNTY IS ON!

Now it's Time for all great Hobby drivers to head to Senoia Raceway as the feature winner of this event for at least 3 times or more has been the great driving #41 of Scott Sherrer, that right "MR.SCOTT SHERRER" as I call him.

But wait here is the catch, Scott will have a "Bulls eye on him this weekend". He has become a wanted man, by Senoia Raceway. The way this works is simple, if you as a driver has the ability to beat Scott, fairly and not INTENTIONALLY try and take him out of competition you will gain a extra $100 dollars to the winnings.

Effective May 15th, there is a $100 Bounty Bonus for anyone that can beat the #41 Scott Sherrer in our Hobby Feature. It MUST be a victory by out performing him and NOT by intentionally taking him out of the race. If Scott Sherrer wins, he will receive a $50 Bonus and $50 will roll over to the next race. The bounty will then be $150.

Every weekend we have watched Scott race, and every weekend we have seen him win, so we know he has the car and the muscle behind it, now it is time for any hobby driver that wants some extra cash to step up and win, and this would be the weekend to do it on.

Sherrer, is getting to be a well known driver in the South, which is great in one way and difficult for him to take when he knows he is the man everyone is shooting at.

But when it takes a man to stand up "Scott Sherrer" will be ready if his car is able, he will not back down and that is why he is called "Mr.Scott Sherrer".

For more fantastic knowledge about Senoia Raceway or any of the Dirt tracks in Georgia all you have to do is tune into William "Big Will" Barbers show which drops t he green flag every Wednesday Night at 7 - 8 PM, only on "THE LEGEND" 96.7 FM.

A Country music legend of a station, and the racing show is outstanding, plus if you hurry you can sign up at 96.7 and win some tickets for a upcoming race at Senoia the fastest 3/8th OVAL on DIRT.

Thanks to Jack Mills, Tony and Tim Moses for everything that they have done to bring back quality dirt track racing at Georgia's newest premier race track in the South.

So keep your radio station set to 97.6 FM "THE LEGEND" and check out all the racing action on Wednesday Nights, don't miss it at all or you will be late when the green flag drops.

Good Luck to Scott Sherrer and his crew, and good luck to every Hobby car driver that appears to try and knock him off and gain the $100 bounty, so as I say lets GO RACING BOYS!

Thanks

MAY 8th Senoia Raceway

WOW, WHAT'S
THE DEAL?

Senoia Raceway on May 8th, 2010 was a amazing place to be if you love fast cars, and lots of action, plus good food.

The night was billed as a 40 lap race of the Limited Late Models, and was paying $2000 dollars to win, so cars from everywhere were showing up plus those local drivers tried for the best money.

Unfortunately the race was marred with a first lap major crash where at least 8 or more cars were taken out of competition due to cars that were too damaged to continue.

The race was held as the last race of the night, which was sad because, the hobby race that started the show, was billed as “THE RACE THAT WOULD NEVER END”, Yellow cautions were out almost every time the cars tried to race, making it turn into an unbearable race to watch.

That was the major set back in time, because Jack Mills, Tony and Tim Moses have been making sure the races are over by 10 or 11 pm, which every fan likes.

Prior to the race, I had to try one of the hotdogs that every fan had been bragging about. So I hit the concession stand early and ordered a $2 dollar hotdog with a large Ice Tea, and I could not be happier, my spotter and young man who helps me at the track carry equipment up and down stairs, was so happy with the food that after the hotdog, he went back for a huge hamburger and was amazed at the food. His name is Jake and he was turning 17 on May 9th, and since he was helping me, I had the track announcer shout out a “Happy Birthday” to Jake from Senoia Raceway. Since I did not hear the announcement, Jake leaned over to me and said “Thank You”. He is such a kind and polite young man.

Back to the racing action, which was fast and furious and had some big names drivers show up.

One name that stood out boldly was Matt Dooley, who drives in the Crate race and believe me or not he is just 14 years old and can handle his #18 crate car with the best of the drivers. This was his first time on the new clay at Senoia Raceway, so he was nervous, but then again what does he need to be nervous about when he comes from a racing family.

Matt is one of the most likeable young men I have come to learn to respect in racing, he is talented in everyway, and is soft spoken, one thing for sure if you every get the chance to meet Matt you like I will be impressed, as you can tell he will be going far in his racing career.

I take pride in my work filming all the racing action as it happens at Senoia Raceway. During the qualifying I always walk down in the crowd and really get to know the fans who share their knowledge and what they think of the new Senoia Raceway, this gives me time to take a break from the action to get ready for the always fast and furious Crate cars and Limited Late Model races.

I have found that when I show a DVD of a race from Senoia most people on seeing it for the first time look at it and reply “It looks just like 7 Flags Speedway, now closed and torn down in Douglasville”.

What they are saying is a HIGH COMPLIMENT to the racing environment of the New Senoia Raceway.

Fans and drivers are finicky and when you treat the fans right, they come back and bring lots of new friends which is great for Jack, Tony and Tim and all of Senoia Raceway officials.

Drivers are the same, treat them right, make sure they get what is coming in pay, and you can expect to see these drivers return and bring fellow drivers with them.

I know of 3 drivers getting cars ready to bring down to Senoia to race in different features, they all want to try and win at Senoia.

Kip Stanfill, who owns Kips Automotive in Douglasville is getting his car ready for some hobby dirt track action, he was a proven winner at 7 Flags Speedway, now he wants to win at Senoia Raceway and give the fans someone else to cheer for. Kip will be driving his K1 car, a new car that will have lots of history behind it.

Zack Minnelli, and Tony Newman drivers who have driven at Dixie Speedway, will soon show their cars off at Senoia Raceway. Both of these drivers are also proven winners.

In the Modified Mini race, the race was another crash fest, with one of the best Modified Mini car drivers got caught up in a real humdinger, when coming out of 4 Frank Long spun and an collected 3 others. Needless to say Eric Hogsed in #9 went on to win.
#3 Todd Brewster came in 2nd, with #18 Heath Brewster coming in a distant 3rd.

The Hobby race had the most cautions, but the man that has won almost every race and continues to prove he is the man to beat #41 Scott Sherrer, showed again his car was ready for everything.

#E1 “Fast Eddy” Johnson started up front but was soon caught up in an early wreck which took him out.
So, it was a tough and rough battle with car #4p Mike Parker spinning Scott Sherrer out in front of the flag stand, which did not damage Scotts car, so he was able to get back in line and win his 4th race in a row, more or less making sure everyone knows Scott is a proven winner.

The Order of finish was Winning again #41 Scott Sherrer.

In 2nd place was #M4 of Winford Minix a proven winner also.
And finishing in 3rd place was #20 Jay Conner.

Then it was time for the B-Cadet race, and this is one of the most heated races of the night.
It was getting cold at Senoia with a small breeze started to kick in, but the racing action would take on a new meaning.

It was amazing because #29 Rusty Johnson would be a late car to entire the race, he must have been running behind, but who cares because he had a fast car, and everyone was chasing Johnson down.

Drivers like #12 Gary Brand and a real up and comer, #25 Bobby Slauson who was going to race in Hobby but because of some issues was forced to change to the hottest race there was, the B-Cadet race. Good thing for Bobby because he took his #25 car, and proved that he can race with the big guns.

Also racing was the famous #03 of Buck Williams, and also #3 of “Top Gun” Big Jeff Carter, also in the race were #11 TJ Joiner, and #1 of David Chapman not leaving out #31 of Lee Fuller.

But the night belonged to #29 of Rusty Johnson who seemed to never look back, even with Jeff Carter chasing him, but Jeff would cut down 2 tires and make it impossible for the big man to win at Senoia.

But when the dust had settled, it was #29 Rusty Johnson winning the B-Cadet race with #12 Gary Brand finishing in 2nd place, and in 3rd place was the up and comer, #25 Bobby Slauson who I am sure we have not heard the last of.

Then it was time for the Nesmith Late Model races, and these men fly around the track. You will always get your money worth of action as the Crate cars make some noise.

In the race was the youngest and most talented driver I have seen in Crate and that was #18 of 14 year old Matt Dooley, that’s right 14 years old and he can handle his crate car as well as the best of the drivers. As a matter of fact Matt was so fast he started on the pole next to last weeks winner #91 Todd Darda.

He was also racing against some other star drivers like #27L of Doug Ludwig, #55 of Parrish Duncan, #6 of Chad Marchman and #25 of Dusty Hendrix.

And if you can believe it or not this was his first night on the new Senoia clay as he had never raced there before, so he was nervous, but when you come from a great racing family there is no need to be nervous.

On this night Matt would slip and slide because the track had dried up, so he could not get the traction his car needed. Needless to say, Matt would finish the race his car in one piece but in last and finishing is better than taking it home on a “Hook”.

So congratulations for Young Matt Dooley and I look forward to watching him race again at Senoia and winning.

The man that has to be beat is #91 Todd Darda, one of Nesmith’s real class acts as a driver.

The order of the NeSmith Late Model race finish was:
Winning #91 Todd Darda that is his 2nd win at Senoia.
In 2nd place was #27L of Doug Ludwig, who was a legends winner when Senoia was asphalt.
And taking 3rd place was #6 of Chad Marchman, who ran with the big guys and I look forward to seeing him win soon.

That brought on the Pure Mini Feature, which had some really tough drivers, back was #D7 Dorough Bright who if I am right won the $500 championship, that I was unable to capture do to my camera going
Also racing was #54 of Norman “BO” Chambers, who
lead an assault, on the pure mini class.

Also racing was #5 of long time racer at West Georgia Speedway Rocky Johnson, who would trail the pack but would end up with a 6th place finish not back for a driver who had never raced at Senoia before Saturday.

You also had drivers like #31 of Wesley Patterson, #19 of Scott Conner, #80 of Benton Morris not to mention #J17 of Joe Spencer plus his brother #M17 of Mike Spencer, and low and behold #16 was being driven by Evan Lancaster, a Modified Mini winner a few weeks back.

The order of finish for the Pure Mini Stock finish was:

Winning #54 of Norman Chambers

In 2nd place #D7 of Dorough Bright
And in 3rd place was #31 of Wesley Patterson.

The Enduro race has become one of my favorite races, these are real warriors, and the man that would take the checkered flag on this night was a elderly white haired gentleman who I would have never dreamed was racing a car, he was #99 Mike Ray who has proved he has the winning car and winning attitude to compete at Senoia.

Ray was able to hold off a up and comer, #44 Blake Griffin. Now ask yourself where have you heard Blake Griffins name before? If you said he was the winner 2 times in the B-Cadet series give yourself a pat on your back, if your arms stretch that far.

For some reason Griffin wanted to try and unseat Mike Ray and he was looking like he was going to, but the old gentleman Mike Ray proved his white #99 was still able to hold his lines and hold out till the end of the race.

Age does not matter in racing as proved again on this Saturday night at the new and improved Senoia Raceway, where fans are coming in droves.

The Enduro finish was like this:
Winning again was #99 of Mike Ray
In 2nd place was #44 of Blake Griffin
And in 3rd place was #23 of Greg Butler
.

Then all eyes turned to get ready for the 40 lap feature event that pitted some of the best Limited Late Model racers on the track and they were racing for $2000 cash and a trophy.

Drivers like #9 Shane Fulcher was entered, plus, #27 of Glenn Morris, and #99 of faithful Rucker Orr.
Then there was #G1 of Glenn McWaters a proven winner at any track, also racing was the son of Alan Brewer, #22 Michael Brewer, another great driver that never backs down was #25 Scott Duffy and his long time friend #73 of “Racing Jason” Williams.

The drivers got into formation of 4 cars wide and were waving to the crowd, on the second time around the crowd was standing and waving to each of the drivers something that is real class.

The 3rd time around, the drivers pulled back into formation as to where they were starting, and when that was done the green flag was flying turning all 24 cars loose, well it did not take long as headed into turn one a car got sideways and took out 8 great cars and great drivers, the ones that made it through were the top 6 cars plus drivers like Scott Duffy who qualified in the back so he was able to hold on and do some braking and getting around the mess.

The scarcest was seeing #G1 of Glenn McWaters on his side, I mean literally on his side sandwiched between two other cars that were damaged.

One thing for sure the clean up took what I call forever, and I believe they need to have more tow trucks ready to get these wrecked cars off the track so that the fans can get ready for more racing action. The main thing was that NO DRIVER WAS INJURED AND EVERY DRIVER WALKED AWAY, maybe with a bruised up race car, but they walked away.

Since the night was closing in on midnight, there was nothing else they could do but run 20 laps and close the race down before 12 a.m.

Almost every night that I have been there I was able to gather was gear, and be home in Douglasville by no later that 11:30 pm, but this was not a regular night, and who would have expected the first race of the night would become the “Race that would never END”.

If it could have been shortened just a small amount of laps maybe we could have seen a full blown 40 lap Late Model race, instead we were forced to concede with just 20 laps.

Winning and taking home the $2000 was car #9 of Shane Fulcher, who started on the pole so he was never involved in any of the wreckage behind him.

In 2nd Place was #27 of Glenn Morris, who took 2nd because the 2nd place car would not tear down.

And in 3rd place was #99 of Rucker Orr, who has been battling to get his car into the winners spot. I know he is racing against some great drivers, but Orr is from a racing history of winners and he will be there soon.

For all the results just head over to :
http://www.newsenoiaraceway.com/

There you can also find a listing of the schedule and events where you can make plans to attend.

The New Senoia Raceway has been the place to be and remember when you come always bring your appetite because you will not find better food at any racetrack in the South.

As a matter of fact I look forward to getting some of their great hotdogs, hamburger, and chicken tenders with fries and a drink, makes me hungry just writing about the food. So bring plenty of cash and get fed right. By the way the price on every thing that they have is great on your wallet so you can go back as many times as you want and still have cash in your pocket when you’re headed home.

Remember the next race will be on, May 15th, 2010 be ready for a real show.

Many Thanks,

Friday and more about Senoia Raceway

“Who cares about NASCAR, when you have the best Dirt track in the South?”

The NEW SENOIA RACEWAY IS RUNNING “DIRT” AFTER YEARS OF ASPLALT, now it’s back to the roots of racing.

Down here in the real world, county of Coweta, the racing buzz isn’t about Kevin Harvick, or Dale Earnhardt Jr, or not even Jeff Gordon. It’s about the layer of clay that has been applied to Senoia Raceway.

Its about dirt track drivers like, Rucker Orr, Tony Kemp, Richard Stevens, Glenn McWaters, and a host of many more drivers that race every Saturday night at the new and improved Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Ga.

Drivers like Jeff Carter, Winford Minix, Scott Sherrer, Blake Griffin, not to mention Rusty Johnson and the list continues to grow every Saturday night as racing season gets stronger.

Up at Glenn and Cheryl Morris’ muffler and sign shop in Fayetteville, Glenn, the veteran Late Model driver, is making plans to return to the track where he started racing years ago, the same track where his father, the late Bob Morris, once was one of the few faithful Ford chauffeurs in the Chevy-dominated starting fields.

In the 1970s and ‘80s, Senoia’s red-clay high banks offered some of the best entertainment around, racing or otherwise. Promoter Hence Pollard, his wife Reba and their staff were masters at making the place fan and driver friendly.
Now the new changes have been made, with Jack Mills, Tony and Tim Moses and Mark Mills, plus a staff and officials that rival non better.
It is almost like that Mills, Moses and others pulled the playbook out of Promoter Hence Pollard and his wife, and basically said lets get back to the roots of racing, and have great food as well as fast cars and great drivers and great family entertainment
,
Maybe that is why people are flocking to watch the action on Saturday nights at Senoia Raceway.

A recent photo shows that Senoia Raceway is well on its way to returning to dirt for the 2010 season. Photo courtesy www.newsenioaraceway.com
Hence Pollard, like all the great promoters, watched his races from the grandstands, from the perspective of a fan. Rather than get embroiled in every tire and spoiler and rules controversy, he looked after the fans’ interests, while Reba kept the concession food hot and as tasty as home cooking.
I guess this is where Mark Mills comes in when it comes to the food, they do not skimp you get more than you pay for at every race. The workers are friendly and helpful to all the fans and are more than willing to help you out.

On more than one occasion, Hence Pollard settled scoring disagreements by paying both drivers for the disputed position.
Once, years ago, Roscoe Smith and Doug Kenimer finished a Late Model feature side by side. The official on Smith’s side of the track called Smith the winner. The official on the other side saw Kenimer as the victor.
Pollard declared the fans the winner and paid both drivers, explaining that it was worth the extra payout to have such an exciting finish.
Once Pollard paid two drivers for second place in a disputed Sportsman race. Both drivers left happy, and Pollard explained later that it really wasn’t that expensive to make both drivers happy. He said he was going to have to pay one of them third-place money anyway and the difference in paying out two second-place purses and a second and a third wasn’t enough to be worth the worry.
After Hence Pollard died, the track was sold and eventually paved. It had a strong run as an asphalt track, but interest waned in recent years. Dirt racing has long been the backbone of short track racing in the South, and on the Southside of Atlanta, and now a new group is returning the old track to its red clay roots.

The new promoter, long-time Late Model driver Jack Mills, said the interest in the track has amazed him. “We’ve had thousands of hits on the website newsenoiaraceway.com and hundreds have signed on as friends of the track on Facebook,” Mills said.
Rainy weather has hampered the process of putting clay on the track, but it’s nearly done, and plans are under way for an opening around the end of March or the first of April.

High on Mills’ agenda is making the track’s old dirt heroes a part of opening night. He plans on inviting former Late Model stars like Roscoe Smith, Leon Archer, Jack Mills and Leon Sells to be on hand for the first green flag laps.
Mills said those drivers are true racing heroes. “They drove cars that were dangerous as hell and they raced like hell,” he said. “If it wasn’t for them none of us would be racing today.”
Jack is better known as “Big Jack” and he makes sure every race is called right; some of the drivers think they can get away with anything because they come from different tracks, and before anyone knows it Jack Mills will be on their case in a heartbeat. Every Driver follows the rules NO exceptions to any of the rules for any driver. Put it this way that is the way it should be at any race track.
And he and his partners, Tony and Tim Moses, have developed a new-found appreciation for the promoters he once cussed on a regular basis.
“I’ve got a whole new appreciation for people like Mickey Swims and Charlie Edwards,” he said of the longtime Georgia promoters. “It’s all three of us can do to do what they do by themselves, and we haven’t even started racing yet.”
When it comes to long-time fans, the greatest challenge facing Mills and the Moses brothers is trying to do the paying public what the Pollards did years ago.
They’re promising to try. and bring top class racing back to Senoia and place it on the map in the racing world.

When I look at Tim and Tony Moses, or Jack Mills or his son-in-law Mark Mills, I can see why racing at Senoia raceway is coming back to life.
First they are taking a secret from Hence Pollard
, they are making the track fan friendly, and also have some of the best food in racing for all their fans, and every thing that is cooked is fresh and tastes like it came from your mothers table at home. “GOOOOOOD”.

Second, the rules on the track are being enforced, no driver gets a free pass, and every driver is the same and goes under the same rules.
That’s where Jack Mills comes in, he is hard nosed and tough but if you obey the rules he is there to help you all he can, and that is something every track needs. There are plenty of times I watch Jack take his Artic Cat 4 wheeler out onto the track and get in a drivers face about something they did or maybe they are doing wrong. I call Jack the “Enforcer” and every class race track has an official that makes sure every driver is playing with the same deck of cards.

You have all heard the saying “Dirt is for racing, asphalt is for getting you to the track”

I have an even better one, “GOD made man out of Dirt, so he must be a dirt track fan”

Senoia Raceway has been for years talked about by people saying they were going to make it a dirt track again, more people than one has said to me that “they were going to dig the asphalt up, and turn it back to dirt”.

Everyone was hoping, but no one realized that in 2010 Senoia would be racing again on the famous clay in Georgia.

I hope you take the time to check out Senoia Raceways website and its amazing schedule of races and events. Just go to www.newsenoaraceway.com and look at the schedule
.
Then as a fan get some friends, family or just some folks that have never seen a dirt track race and bring them down to the fastest 3/8th oval on DIRT and watch their eyes light up with pure amazement.
Once you are headed home, they will have become life long serious Dirt track fans and will be back and bring their friends and families.

It’s almost like catching a “BUG”. A “FEVER”, it becomes a thrill, and you have to be there to experience it.

So I can truly say, that Hence Pollard did the right thing in serving the fans to some of the greatest dirt track races in the South, now it is time for Jack Mill, Tony and Tim Moses to make their mark and make it even better than Hence Pollard did.
It can be done and with the experience between all parties in this vast venture , I look for so many great things to happen.

Remember DVD’s of all 7 Feature a race are available for $25.00 and if you need more information my name is Tino and the Website of Senoia raceway has my cell phone number in which you can call at anytime.

I look forward to seeing some great racing action, and remember every class is a must see, from Modified Mini to Late Models, to pure stock mini cars, to the hobby as well as Enduro class.
You want action, you will see some of the fastest drivers take the curves 3 wide and whoever said there is no passing in the turns has lost their minds, there is action everywhere.

So come see some Fast Action this weekend as on May 8th, 2010 the Late Model run for $2000 cash, that’s right $2000 cash to the winning driver, look out because the drivers will be coming from everywhere to try and earn the cash.

Many Thanks

Senoia and a BIRTHDAY suprise MAY 8, 2010

“THE BIG RACE, ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE?”

SENIOA RACEWAY IS YOUR PLACE TO BE MAY 8TH, 2010, AS JACK MILLS AND TONY AND TIM MOSES PUT UP THE BIGGEST PAYCHECK FOR A DRIVER IN THIS YOUNG 2010 SEASON. $2000 TO WIN, THAT’S RIGHT $2000 BIG DOLLARS.

What kind of driver will it take to win this huge “Topless Late Model race”?

Will it be Rucker Orr’s turn to take the checkered flag, or will Jason Williams show how fast he really can be, if you remember Williams took the win on April 17th, 2010.
Or will #16C of Shane Criswell, bring it back and win big again after his win Saturday night on May 1st.
Then again, I would never count out Scott Duffy in his new #25 car.

Then again, it could be some of the Alabama gang that comes over to race and show their stuff.

Who ever wins, is going to have to PUSH the envelope and pray that they have the right car on this one great super night, where fans should fill the track stands.

This race will be the showcase of the night, and should provide some real action, I plan on being there filming all the action with my back-up camera that I have filmed with for years at all the major tracks, like 7 Flags Speedway, Senoia Speedway when it was asphalt, back to 7 Flags Speedway to close the race track down and have the bulldozers come in and take the track down, piece by piece.

Then it was off to West Georgia Speedway, where anything went, and no one could say they won fair.

It was a free for all, and I called it “THE BURG”.

Drivers raced on a track that was tough, and everyone complained, but I took it in stride. I was doing my best at giving the drivers that won a product they were happy with. There were plenty of promises but none came true. It was sad for fans and hard on good drivers in every class.

NOW I HAVE THE PRIVLEGE TO WORK AT A TRACK THAT I HATED WHEN IT WAS ASPLAT AND LOVE NOW THAT IT IS “DIRT”, I AM TALKING ABOUT SENOIA RACEWAY.

Professional in every way, every worker is a class act worker, no one drivers gets a free pass, you break a rule you get the hand in the your face from track promoter Jack Mills, who shows no favorites that’s the way a race track should be run.

Tim and Tony Moses take care of the tower and making sure the drivers are listening on their race receivers, they are in line ready to move out and no driver can say, “Oh I forgot my race was coming up”, it’s so much class and I am telling you if you have never been to watch a race at Senoia you are in for a treat, you will never again want to miss a race at Senoia Raceway, where cars are FAST and drivers are the best there is.

That leads me to food, and I love FOOD, you can tell by my size.

Everyone knows racetrack food is usually lousy and over priced
.

Well here is the deal, friends, I will clue you in to a secret that I have hidden for years, I never, NEVER ate at race tracks that I was working at because the food was awful, or even worse over priced for the size of the food. I mean sure I can see paying for something good but when you get a mini burger at over charged prices you can keep it.

So I always brought my own food from home or stopped at a local fast food chain, to grab a bite of good food I could trust.

That leads me to something that caught my eye while the cars were running some heat races. I looked down and their was Mark, the Son-in-law to Jack Mills “CLEANING” the table where all the mustard and ketchup and salt and pepper was laying on the table, he was cleaning it to where it was giving off a glow of silver, and you know that to me was class. Sure you say what’s the big deal, the big deal was there he was cleaning and making sure the fans could buy some good quality food and have there meals like they are supposed to be.

Jack asked me if I had tried the food and to be honest I said no, that is when he told me of the great food and high quality of food they buy, and sell to the fans. Needless to say, next time I am hungry and am at Senoia Raceway, I am going down for some fries, hamburger, or chicken tenders or what ever else I find to eat, and I am getting me a cold drink to wash it down because when I start filming the feature races I have no time to worry about eating.

Enough about the great food, remember they have some great racing action with drivers like Richard Bagby who won his first Modified Mini race and thanked a cheering crowd at Senoia, finishing 2nd was young Evan Lancaster and coming in 3rd was #3 of Allen Brewster

The winner of the Hobby race was #41 of Scott Sherrer he is a full blown winner and looks like know one can touch him. But #E1 of “Fast” Eddy Johnson almost had a win, but was passed by Scott and that’s all that race wrote.

How about the B-Cadet race winner #31 Blake Griffin
Who has found a car that knows how to win at Senoia? Then again if Jeff Carters car had not broken down, we could have had a super finish. One thing is for sure the B-Cadet series is amazing, you have some really talented drivers and some who are not afraid to block.

The Enduro race has been a toss up, but closing in on a win is Matt Swancey who is just a lick and a tick away from grabbing a Senoia Raceway win, he is about there, but until then #99 Mike Ray would win the big race of the night, finishing in 3rd was Michael Nelms in his #4 car.

That would showcase the Nesmith Crate cars, and winning his first race of the season at Senoia was #91 of Scott Darda who was being chased around the track by a real fan favorite “Tony The Tiger” Kemp in his new #16 car, that even I did not recognize.

Kemp has always been a proven winner, when he races he comes to win, but he had to hold off 3rd place finisher #28 Joe Cobb.

That is when my camera as well as my back took a dive, and shut down so I did not capture the Late Model race and also the Pure Mini stock championship that was filled with spins and turns and crashes, and drivers getting yelled at by Jack Mills, it was all in a nights work because they were all fighting for $500 big bucks to win.

All I can say is Saturday May 8th 2010, I will be there with my trusty BACK-UP camera that as I stated has seen some of the best races in history. I know this camera , I trust it and I have always believed in it. But like all things, new things come up, and digital cameras came in and S/VHS tape went out. I can still copy a Video to a DVD so every driver will have a copy if you order one.

PRICE IS $25 (NO EXCEPTIONS)

The DVD will have all 7 Feature races, and interviews with winning drivers.

If you contact me I will have a DVD ready for you and have it at the track, the DVD’s will be taken to each driver who will be expected to pay using, Haley or Robbie Carter, if you have any questions in the Pit are please see Lisa Carter, the wife of B-Cadet driver Jeff Carter, she will make sure your questions are answered and if she has a problem she will contact me and we will work it out.

Later there will be a sign up sheet in the room where the drivers draw. Also there will be a receipt book for those that pay $5.00 up front. The driver keeps the receipt so there is no mix-up, I will have the copy along with Lisa Carter.

Please contact me at 770-361-3019 for instructions if I have to mail a DVD to you. You can make all checks payable to: Tino Patti

Again I hope that I can work with every driver and please them, as this is going to be one of the greatest racing seasons in Dirt track racing, at the fastest Oval in Georgia and Dirt! Non other than Senoia Raceway, the NEW IMPROVED SEONIA RACEWAY.

MAY 1st Senoia WOES, but great racing !!!

Senoia Raceway, took a toll on me and my camera !

WHAT CAN I SAY BUT I APOLOGIZE
TO ALL THE DRIVERS OF THE LATE MODEL AND PURE MINI STOCK CHAMPIONSHIP RACE.

It was all going good for me and my camera until I changed Mini DVC tapes to start filming the Late Model race, and the Pure Mini classic.

Since my camera would not go back into the record mode, I was only able to capture the Hobby, to the Crate races, also this is my first time reporting this but my “BACK went OUT”, and I could hardly move, I am not under treatment but taking some pain medication.

This is the first time my back has gone out and I really am trying my best to get some “R&R”, I will be using a heating pad and generally not trying to do any kind of lifting of any kind in the next few days.

Also I want to thank Jeff & Lisa Carters young son who met me at the track and helped me load my camera and gear upstairs from where I film the races, and since my camera went down, I had the son-in-law of Jack Mills, “MARK” have them radio down that I needed Robbie Carter to report to the Concession stand at the end of the race.

Since I was in total pain all I could do was hope and pray he heard the announcement at the end of the race, and I thank GOD he did hear and was able to help me load my gear back downstairs and load it into my car, so I could make the long trip home.

On arriving to Senoia there was a chance of rain, as I was headed that way I drove through sprinkles.

But once at this fantastic track, the weather cleared and everything looked great, so we knew we were going racing again at the best tracks in Georgia.

I want to say I have seen professional operations but this has to be the class act track in Dirt tracks in Georgia.

Every one that works at this track is professional in every thing they do, no matter how small a task it is done great.

Fans are treated with some of the best racing action in Georgia.

In the Modified Mini race, Richard Bagby took his first win at Senoia Raceway, and gave thanks to his family and GOD and everyone at Senoia Raceway. Bagby is a class act driver and when he wins, he has such a great attitude.

Winning drivers were:

In the Enduro classic was #99 Mike Ray
In 2nd place #38 Matt Swancey
In 3rd place # 4 Michael Nelms

Modified Mini Winner was #6 of Richard Bagby
In 2nd place was #9 Evan Lancaster
In 3rd place was #3 Allen Brewster

The Hobby winner was again #41 Scott Sherrier
In 2nd Place hard charging #1 Eddie Johnson
And in 3rd place #M4 Winford Minix

In the Hard fought B-Cadet race again #31 of Blake Griffin took the win.
Finishing in 2nd place was #22 William Blair
And in 3rd place was #7 Chris Justus

In the Nesmith Crate race #91 Todd Darda held off everyone including #0 Craig Scott.

So Todd Darda took the Nesmith crate win, followed by in 2nd place #16 Tony “The Tiger” Kemp
And in 3rd place #28 Joe Cobb

That’s when I started to change Mini DVC’s when BAM, my camera went into LOCK UP MODE. Something it has never done before, since my back was hurting and throbbing every time I moved, and camera was locked up, there was nothing I could do except sit back and watch both the Late Model Race and also the Pure Mini Championship.

AGAIN I am so sorry for not capturing the Late Model Feature as well as the hard fought 25 lap Pure Mini Championship race, I know you drivers have always been my friend and I have always tried my best but when your back gives out and also your camera heads south, I have to again say I am sorry.

To Shane Criswell who won the Late Model Feature, I say congratulations and I look forward to seeing him win again, soon.

The order of finish in the May 1st 2010 late model race finishing first #18C of Shane Criswell
And in 2nd place was #99 of Rucker Orr
And in 3rd place was hard charging #27 Glenn Morris

Also to Pure Mini Championship Winner and walk away $500 dollar winner 7B Brandon Bright, proves he can win the big race, even going against some of the top name drivers in Pure Mini Stock class features.

Winning the first Pure Mini Stock Championship of 2010
Congratulations to #7B Brandon Bright
In 2nd place #4 Dusty Jones
And in 3rd place finished #54 of Norman Chambers

So to everyone I thank you for your time in reading this and I want you to know before the big $2000 to win feature that will bring Late Models to Senoia I look forward to being there and giving you the kind of filming of the action I have always been proven to do.

BUT I DO PLAN ON GETTING SOME “R&R” AND WORK ON GETTING MY BACK PAIN STOPPED IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.

You drivers have never let me down and I promise I will never again let you down in my filming of all your action. There has never been a night that my camera failed, and my back went out the same night it is so unreal.

Again Senoia Raceway proves to be one of the real class act racetracks in Georgia, and the schedule has some really exciting racing action to come in the future.

You need to as a fan thank Jack Mills, Tony and Tim Moses and everyone else involved at running this race track. With care and pride these men have taken a track that had such great dirt track history and racing drivers, when it was dirt, and all the great drivers who drove the track when it was asphalt, and now back to dirt in 2010. Everyone is a winner at this track.

Fans bring your friends and everyone you can load up and head to Senoia Raceway known as “The fastest DIRT Track in Georgia”.

One more thing I want to mention, and that is Jack Mills is a no nonsense track official, and if a driver is not running right he will drive his artic cat 4 wheeler out onto the track and point in the drivers face and give him down country, and most tracks this would be overlooked to make sure not to hurt a drivers feeling, put it this way you do wrong and you will be told and harshly taken care of.

Again I plan on getting my back to feeling better and my camera looked at, and then I hope we will be back to filming of some of the greatest racing in Georgia at Senoia Raceway.

FOR ALL THE DRIVERS THAT DID NOT PICK UP YOUR DVD’S OF THE 17TH RACE, I STILL HAVE THEM AND THEY ARE WAITING FOR YOU. They took time to make and I worked hard for you I hope that you will honor your commitment in purchasing them as soon as you can.

Remember prices are $25.00 no driver gets a deal, everyone driver is the same. If you need to contact me regarding your DVD please call me at 770-361-3019 my cell line or 770-942-9888 my land line.

Call me please if you are not purchasing your DVD and I will make a note of it so that I can resell it to someone else. All I am saying if you commit I expect you to honor your word.

Many Thanks to all,

Tino Patti

Senoia Raceway Friday !

Senoia Raceway, Friday night racing, we hope!

It’s Friday Night and the weather is not looking good for racing at Senoia Raceway. But if Jack Mills or Tony and Tim Moses have anything to do about it, we should see racing as the Pure Mini Stock will be racing for a $500 Championship race.

25 laps of hard racing action only Pure Mini Stock Style, with some of the best drivers in the south.

Drivers, like Dan “The Man” Bennett, Eric Hogsed, who is young and talented and has driven Sportsman cars at 7 Flags Speedway.
Then you have the Bright’s and when they race they are always around the front of the field.

Then you could have last weeks winner, #0 of Matthew Black who did some fancy driving to get by two other cars to win the feature on the April 17th, 2010.

Then again we could have some one that has never won a race at any track, like Robbie Carter. Carter is the son of B-Cadet driver Jeff Carter. The Carter’s are a known racing family.

What about someone from Alabama, or maybe a Dixie Boy coming down and win.

No matter what, the race should be exciting as well as the other feature races, like the Nesmith late models, and even the Limited Late Models, plus the Hobby and B-Cadet features, plus the Enduro and modified mini feature.

Well now all we have to do is pray that the rain stays away from Senoia Raceway, so we can see some great racing action.

40 % chance of rain, sometimes I wonder if we are going to get some rain free racing Saturday night at Senoia Raceway.

Well let’s hope that some how the rain, disappears and we can get all 7 feature races in without a problem.

Since I hurt my back, I am looking for some young man that may enjoy racing and would like to help me film plus spot for me during the races. We can talk prices for your help when we talk and get to know each other, who knows, we could start up a friendship and also you could learn to work with me and we could strike up a business together.

Just a thought, if you can be of any help let me know give me a call at 770-361-3019 ask for Tino.

Anyway, to everyone let’s go racing this Saturday at Senoia Raceway on May 1st 2010.

Many Thanks

Get Ready for MORE Racing!

RACING RETURNS TO SENOIA RACEWAY MAY 1ST 2010

Who says bad weather can stop a race, well it did April 24th , but come on lets race on May 1st, as the Pure Mini have their first championship race of the year.

25 hard laps around a premier racetrack with superb officials, making sure everyone is legal.

Jack Mills, Tony and Tim Moses, have got the men towing the line, and fans can’t wait to watch the races.

Fans are arriving early just to make sure that they have their favorite spots to sit and watch the racing action.

During the cancelled rain out on Saturday I took the time to re-watch the race of the Nesmith crate race, and it was worth every minute of it. What I enjoyed most was watching the fans as “Rocket Man” Richard Stevens and Craig Scott were dueling side by side on the track. Fans were jumping out of their chairs and yelling at the tops of their voices. I noticed this because I was filming the race from above the track, and when I film I really am more focused on the drivers, but every now and then you could see the crowd, vast and many cheering their favorite drivers.

One thing is for sure, racing is alive and well at Senoia Raceway. Crowds can’t wait to get in every Saturday night. Also every feature race is worth watching, because “You can Pass” on this track, and I mean pass.

Modified Mini cars start the show, then they bring on the hobby cars, and later the B-Cadet cars, then its time for the Nesmith Late models to run, and after they have blasted around the track, the Pure Mini feature gets underway.

That just leaves the Limited Late Model cars to put on one heck of a show like Jason Williams did in his topless late model race.

Finishing the night, or the Enduro cars, and no hold are barred as these men show what they can do.
Michael Nelms in his #4 would go on to take the win, but he would also have some drivers that tried to make his life miserable. Car #38 Matt Swancey some how got tangled up with “Black Beauty” and before the race was over Black Beauty was sitting on it’s roof, as drivers and crew and officials made their way over to make sure the driver was alright, which he was. Also racing with the big and young drivers was car #85 of Pappy Powell, a long time racer who never fears these young guys.

All in all, on May 1st (RAIN PREMITING) we should see the best of the best in the Pure Mini Stock Class at Senoia Raceway, because I am sure $500 dollars will bring drivers from every where.

Big name drivers like #32 Dan Bennett is going to be there and Eric Hogsed will be running, he is always someone you have to watch. I am sure the Brights will be there, money is something they love and winning is what they have done best.

But let’s not count out the winner of April 17th races, #00 Matthew Black, or even the #54 of Norman Chambers, or even #21 of Ricky Pace.

Then again we could have an upset if #3 driven by Robbie Carter could slide in and win, wouldn’t that be something, one thing for sure he has a car that can run, BUT can he run with the best of the best?

The Topless Late model cars should see a revamped #99 or Rucker Orr, who finished 2nd to Jason Williams, but Orr is known for his outstanding driving and ability, I do not look for him to run in the back, one day he will have a break out and that’s when his game will be on.

Maybe the famous #G1 of Glenn McWaters will return to the dirt at Senoia, and if he is there you will see some pure fire driving. Glenn has been racing for 25 years and is proud of his winning ability. One thing for sure Glenn is Glenn and he has always been a fan favorite.

We know Jason Williams will be back after blistering the track Saturday night of the 17th of April, and also Scott Duffy in his #25 ride should be back if his car is finished and I know when he arrives he will be locked and loaded and ready to win.

The NeSmith Dirt Late Models will return minus #00 of “Rocket Man” Richard Stevens who put on a show for all the fans at Senoia, close behind was #0 of Craig Scott, who battled him side by side, some of the cleanest and finest racing we have yet to see.
That leads me to question if #10 Matthew Turner will make the show, he came in 3rd on the 17th of April, close behind Craig Scott.
Who ever shows up, we should see some real down home racing action.

In the B-Cadet Series, we all know that #31 Blake Griffin took the win with his blazing car, but he was closely followed by #3 of the “Magic Man” Big Jeff Carter, who is not afraid to mix it up. Jeff is a known winner and second is not where he likes to finish a race. Then we have #31 of Lee Fuller who finished 3rd, he gave it his all, but Saturday night was not Fuller’s night to win.
One of racing best drivers, #29 of Rusty Johnson looked just like his name “a little rusty” but he can and will make a huge come back. So never count out Johnson in any race.

The Hobby Class Feature proved exciting in every way, because they were passing every chance they could, and winning the feature was #41 of Scott Sherrer with #07 of Gary Brand in 2nd place some place Gary is not used to ending up and closing it down in 3rd place was a man that has become a historic figure in racing, Mr.Winford Minix in his purple #M4 car. Winford is a champion and a class driver who never turns an interview down. He is just a down home legend and a super fine race driver that everyone needs to meet.

The Modified Mini Stock, race a 4 car feature, but the winner was #9 of Evan Lancaster, who drove the wheels off his car, beating #6 of Richard Bagby and #07 of Frank Long, both Bagby and Long are veterans of the wars on dirt. So as for as Evan winning, it was a real boast to this fine young man.

Filming from high atop the tower, I have a sure fire filming advantage and can get a close look at the drivers and the racing action. From the drop of the green flag to double flagged checked flag finish, to the amazing interviews at the end of each feature.

I have the privilege of filming at Senoia Speedway in the year 2000 when it was a hot asphalt track, and to be honest I hated it.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that I would be filming Dirt track racing at the new and improved Senoia Raceway the Fastest 3/8th Dirt Oval in Georgia.
Plus working with a class act organization, like Jack Mills, Tony and Tim Moses and everyone else that works at this fantastic venue.

So fans get ready for May 1st and pray the rain stays away so that we can again go racing at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia.

See you there, and remember all DVD’s of all feature races are $25.00 so if you need a copy please let me know, just call me at 770-361-3019 and ask for Tino of Plus Photography, and I will hook you up.

Many Thanks to everyone,
