How many times have you visited West Georgia Speedway as a fan or as a driver?
How many times can you really say you had a great time?
Sammy Duke has had a knee operation and he has been
down for a while, our prayers are with him each day.
Now to a problem and Sammy needs your help, if you have n
ot heard Senoia Speedway is being opened up and the dirt will cover the asphalt, at this super fast 3/8 mile speedway.
Jack Mills, along with Tony Moses and Tim Moses have leased out the track and Senoia will run on dirt in the upcoming 2010 season.
Since Senoia was dirt in the old days, and lots of famous drivers drove there, that only means more excitement not that the track
is back to dirt.
I had the pleasure of filming the asphalt season at Senoia Speedway in May of
2001.
To be honest, I hated it because it was so boring.
No passing, just cars cruising around following each other. There were some great legend car races, and also some great street sto
ck racing.
I had just finished with filming at 7 Flags
s in the south. Then after Senoia I came back to finish the last year at 7 Flags
as closed for all time.
Now that Senoia is reopening for racing season, it looks like Sammy Duke the
owner of West Georgia Speedway will be under real fire. Most of his drivers come from the Newn
an racing area, some farther.
So fans I am asking you will you support West Georgia
Speedway if Sammy runs on Friday night instead of Saturday nights?
In a way this could be good for everyone concerned, becaus
e race car drivers would have the chance of getting paid for a Friday night race at West Georgia Speedway a
nd then race on Saturday night at Senoia and maybe take home some extra cash.
So please let me know if you
would support West Georgia Speedway and Sammy Duke if he races on
Friday nights instead of Saturday?
Please remember how much fun Sammy Duke has given
race fans every year, he is a man of his word, or is he?
One thing for sure Sammy is a legend and when you get to
know him, you can and will meet one special man that has seen so many changes.
SO WILL YOU SUPPORT
WEST GEORGIA SPEEDWAY IF THEY RUN ON Friday NIGHT’S?
Thank You,
Tino Patti

West ga speedway for many years catored to certain drivers and as far as the rest of the drivers who live southward were at the mercy of WGS due to it being the closes track available. Now that the famous Sanoia is going dirt this breaks the mercy hold that WGS has on certain drivers. Alot of drivers work full time jobs as well as racing and a friday night race limits alot of drivers from attending. Im sorry to hear that this is going to make an impact on WGS because it was an experience racing there but then again this is all the more reason the track should have listened when requests were made to aid in supporting the drivers and these request were ignored.
