"SAD NEWS FROM WEST GEORGIA SPEEDWAY"
You may think you do not know Ms.Edie, but she is always that smiling face that signs you in, and you draw from every week at West Georgia Speedway, she is one of the toughest ladies and deals with a lot, in a tough racing world. She is an official scorer, and we know she will be missing her father. Please pray for Edie and her family.
WEST GEORGIA SPEEDWAY, AND PLUS PHOTOGRAPHY WISH TO SEND OUR PRAYERS AND GOOD WISHES TO THE FAMILY OF WEST GEORGIA SPEEDWAYS, SCORER , MISS EDIE WHO LOST HER FATHER ON MONDAY NIGHT. THE DATE WAS MARCH 22, 2010.
MR.ELLIOT WAS 82 YEARS OLD AND WAS FROM BOWDON, GA.
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS ARE INCOMPLETE BUT WE DO KNOW THAT SERVICES FOR MR.ELLIOT WILL BE MARTIN & HIGHTOWER HERITAGE CHAPEL IN CARROLLTON , GA.
MR. WILLIAM "BILL" SAMUEL ELLIOT, WAS WELL KNOWN AROUND THE RACE TRACK AT WEST GEORGIA SPEEDWAY AND WAS VERY WELL KNOWN. HE WAS A VERY SPECIAL MAN AND EVERYONE THAT MET HIM GREW TO LOVE HIS WIT AND CHARM. HE WAS ALWAYS SMILING EVEN IN HIS LAST DAYS.
SOME OF YOU FANS MAY NOT HAVE KNOWN HIM BUT MR. ELLIOT WOULD BE DRIVEN TO THE TRACK BY TRACK SCORER MS.EDIE, EARLY IN THE SEASON HE WOULD STAND INSIDE THE TOWER WITH EDIE AND TREY THE OFFICIAL SCORERS.
IN THOSE LAST DAYS HE WOULD SIT IN THEIR PICK-UP TRUCK WHERE HE COULD WATCH THE ACTION IN ALL THE CLASSES. THE DRIVERS OF WEST GEORGIA SPEEDWAY WERE SPECIAL TO HIM, AND I WOULD LIKE FOR ALL DRIVERS TO TAKE ONE LAST RIDE AROUND SLOWLY IN MEMORY OF THIS GREAT MAN.
YOU MAY NOT HAVE KNOWN MR.ELLIOT, BUT THERE WAS NO WAY YOU COULD EVER FORGET HIS SMILE. HE WAS A TRUE RACING FAN, AND WAS ALWAYS A JOKE AWAY. MAY GOD BLESS MS.EDIE AND HER FAMILY IN THESE DIFFICULT TIMES.
AGAIN, THIS SATURDAY NIGHT WE ARE ASKING ALL DRIVERS TO TAKE A PARADE LAP IN HIS HONOR.

We will always remember, the laughter and good times her father brought to the booth on so many race nights.
