SENOIA RACEWAY 1ST RAIN OUT

Senoia has CANCELLED it's first race of the 2010 racing season, due to heavy and severe rain.

Drivers of all you Pure Mini Stocks will have 1 extra week to prepare your car for a $500 payout, and that is like I said "Pure Mini Heaven".

So maybe your car was not ready well it better be on May 1, 2010 as the first of many Championship races gets it on at the finest race track in Georgia.

Senoia Speedway, one class act operation, that has no favorites, EVERYONE goes by the rules of the track.

Thanks to Jack Mills and Tim and Tony Moses, racing has come back to one of the best race tracks in Georgia. They have breathed a new breath of life into a track that has seen history over the years.

Thanks Tony, Tim and "Big Jack" for giving racing fans in Georgia a shot in the arm.

I have filmed there one time in this new season, and to be frank I was amazed at the turnout,
but what amazes me more is the fan knowledge of every driver and every class of races.

These are not your once in a while drive by race fans THESE FANS HAVE DIRT RUNNING DOWN DEEP IN THEIR VEINS. They are also fans that know what is going on, and can tell you who to look out for, these are race fans supreme.

Oh one more thing, when I was speaking with fans, it is amazing how early they get to the track to make sure they get their favorite place in the grandstand or along the fence for parking. These fans, come early to watch and see their favorite drivers pull in.

In other words these are REAL RACE FANS.

Storms moving in, does not look good!

WELCOME TO THE FASTEST TRACK ON DIRT, SENIOA RACEWAY

DRIVERS ARE YOU PREPARED FOR WHAT IT TAKES TO TAKE EVERY CURVE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED, AND WIN?

This weekend if we can get the weather to work in our favor, you will see some of the finest Pure Mini cars racing for $500 dollars. That’s right $500 dollars cash!

Just think Pure Mini money heaven and how many pure mini drivers want to walk away not only as a winner but the driver to take the first Championship at Senoia Raceway in 2010.

Drivers will be coming from every direction as Senoia Raceway puts on another of its fantastic racing shows.

One thing for sure you will see the veteran drivers come to compete and also the newest men behind the wheel. You know it could be a veteran of the Pure Mini wars to win, then you could have the dark horse come sliding in and take a win, now wouldn’t that be great.

All is fair in the racing world, and you know Senoia has been shown to be the top track in the South, Modified Mini, to Hobby to B-Cadet to the super fast Nesmith Late models. Jack Mills, Tony and Tim Moses are bringing dirt track racing back like it was in years past. Fans are packing the track and drivers in every class from odel Crate cars to the always wild and wooly Limited Late Model Sportsman cars.

The B-Cadet race is always exciting, and Blake Griffin in his car #31 lead most of the race but was being chased down by #3 if Jeff Carter,

Last weeks late model winner was Jason Williams, and he stole the show, but had some really tough hard driving from Rucker Orr who tried to chase Jason down.

And if you were not there to catch the Nesmith Late Model race, you missed one of the finest races in a long time with #00 Richard Steven known as “The Rocket Man” battled his way around the track with #0 Craig Scott on his tail in every turn. When the checked flags were flying it was “the Rocket Man” Richard Stevens taking a win and in the after race interview he was giving Craig Scott a huge hug, as he knew he had been in a battle.

Matthew Black won the Pure Mini race, beating out some top name drivers I wonder if that will happen again Saturday night?

In enduro, Michael Nelms showed he still has the car that has to be beat, and all I can say is someone better step up and challenge him, because Nelms is known to be a winner.

The fans at Senoia Raceway know they are watching a class act race track. As drivers come from Alabama to all over Georgia just to say that they have won at a track that is class in every act.

The schedule of events at Senoia Raceway is incredible, just log onto their fine website located at http://www.newsenoiaraceway.com/ and check out the excitement that will be happening at the new track.

We all need to thank Jack Mills, Tony and Tim Moses for bringing back racing in the dirt like it was in the old days.

When you mention Senoia Raceway remember some of the finest race car drivers that have raced there when it was dirt. I mean legends are born there, and drivers you can become one of the great legends of all times. History will follow you when you say you have won at Senoia Raceway. So fans and drivers get ready for some exciting racing throughout the 2010 racing season.

As for as the weather goes, it is not looking good for Saturday night ,as storms and severe weather and rain in moving in to the Georgia area.

This could be the first washout of the season at Senoia, but remember after all the rain, the next Saturday will bring back some of the best drivers in Georgia and Alabama.

Racing will again be fast so fans get ready because when you attend races at Senoia you are attending racing history.

Many Thanks

West Georgia Speedway April 3, 2010

West Georgia Speedway, April 3, 2010

What can you say, the “Burg” was not itself Saturday night, due to the grand opening of Senoia Raceway in Senoia.

Drivers were showing up, and seeing that there would be no competition so that packed up and pulled out of the speedway that has shown so many years of exciting racing action.

Sammy Duke was sad, as he spoke to drivers who had come to the old track to race, and be faithful. He looked worn and tired, and I could see on this gentle man’s face he was concerned.

It was Easter weekend, and families were gathered together to celebrate Easter which was on Sunday.

One thing for sure was the track was in amazing shape, and Sammy Duke promised a full pay out for every car with NO pay cuts to any driver.

The weekend prior the pay was cut in two classes of racing action. Driver’s were not happy, and voiced their opinion. The trouble was that Sammy Duke on the Saturday the pay was cut was out of town, and that left all the calls to his son Brian Duke.

Failure to communicate is a major reasonability. I mean here is the whole deal in a nut shell.

Drivers are loyal, and if you tell a driver up front before racing you are cutting the pay he listens, he then makes a decision then and can say ok, or load up his car and go home.

Cutting pay after a race is a no way to run a race track, and that is when you run all the drivers off.

Honesty is the best policy, tell the drivers up front what is happening, they can either understand work with the track or they can call it quits.

Treat a driver right in every way and he will come back and bring his friends and also fans.

Needless to say racing at West Georgia Speedway went on minus some big name drivers, but one day they will return and get a guarennte full price payout, or Sammy needs to close the track and look in other ways to use it.

He has said he is looking into a motor-cross or even a mud bog racing.
Whatever Sammy does he will do it and no one will tell him how to do it.

I know you drivers are not praying people, not all of you anyway, but with constant prayer, somehow West Georgia Speedway will sink or swim.

I am hoping for the latter, meaning a bold fresh comeback and a better race track.

What do you think?

Many Thanks,

Tino Patti

His NAME says it all, MASON "RACIN" MASSEY

Mason Massey has been racing for years and is the son of Mayes Massey, his uncle Marty Massey drove a late model cars at 7 Flags Speedway and other big name tracks.
Mason marks 55 years of someone in the Massey Family involved in racing, with out missing a year.

Hobbies: include Football, Basketball, and of all things playing the guitar.
But if you want the truth, Mason is a die hard race car driver, and "Racin Mason" is a name you will know for sure as he moves up the line of cars.

West Georgia Speedway results Mar.27, 2010

West Georgia Speedway results from Mar.27, 2010

Drivers that made the show were Sportsman class driver, Glenn McWater’s in his famous #G1 car.

Also showing up was two time winner in Sportsman Scott Duffy driving his #25 sportsman class car?

Also there was #90 Michael “Mouth” Keener, who was driving in the Sportsman class and is said to have a crate motor, if you can believe that.West Georgia Speedway put on some exciting racing action, even minus Mr. Sammy Duke, who was out of town and turned the track over to his son, Brian Duke.

Then there was #18C of Shane Criswell, and #89 of young Cary Smith. A driver, from Alabama in #55 was none other than Montana Dudley. Great racing action, still Rucker Orr did not make the show as he was down at Senoia Raceway trying to dial his car in. One thing for sure those who race in the Sportsman feature at Senoia better be ready to take a beating. So if Rucker thinks he can win there, I believe he will be kidding himself. He may have to return to what he calls his “Honey Hole” West Georgia Speedway.

When the green flag dropped it was 25 laps of non stop Sportsman racing action, with McWater’s in the lead, and Michael Keener following him closely, in 3rd place was Scott Duffy running as hard has his car would go. Michael “Mouth” Keener was giving McWater’s a run for his money and sure enough after 25 heart pounding laps , it was Glenn McWater’s taking the checkered flag with Michael “Mouth” Keener coming in 2nd place and Scott Duffy in his super fast #25 car came in 3rd place.

Glenn McWater’s has been racing for 45 years, and is married to a beautiful wife Kacie McWater’s and they now have a young racer growing up, Walter McWater’s who is so cute, and small like his father, but one day he will try and feel his fathers shoes on a race track.

Keener in his #90 car, was all over the track and tried to catch Glenn, but you know, after 25 years of racing action Glenn is celebrating victory after victory.

Tonight was no different; McWater’s placed his famous #G1 car out front and never looked back.

The Sportsman results were:

Winning #G1 Glenn McWaters

In 2nd place was #90 of Michael Keener

And in 3rd place was #25 of Scott Duffy

The Modified Mini class was short handed and one driver that was missing was #07 of Frank Long, always a winning driver.

The race was fast and not many wrecks, so the results were:

Winning and finishing 1st was #27 Talmedge Simpson

In 2nd place was #9 Evan Lancaster

And in 3rd place car #82 Brian Shoemake

The Hobby class feature was also exciting, with some great drivers including #M4 Winford Minix, and also #07 Grand Brand.

Winning the Hobby race was #07 Gary Brand

And in 2nd place was #M4 of Winford Minix

Coming in 3rd place was a historic driver from the famous Tidwell family, not Horace but finishing 3rd was his son Bruce Tidwell.

Then it was time for the Super Street Feature which featured Jeff Carter in his #3 super looking car.

Winning without trying hard was Jeff Carter, who was riding on a set of new tires and that makes all the difference in racing.

Coming in 2nd place was #55 David Burtz

And in 3rd place was #20 Lee Capps

The one car that was really giving everyone a pain was one that was smoking and given the Black flag several times, but never pulled over.

Again Many thanks to all, and I hope to see you at West Georgia Speedway on April 3, 2010 at “The Burg”
And remember Sammy Duke is not closing the track and will be running the track Saturday night, so be there.

Many Thanks again,

West Georgia is NOT CLOSING DOWN!

WEST GEORGIA SPEEDWAY IS “NOT CLOSING

Someone left a message on 4m.net that West Georgia Speedway was closing down due to Senoia opening up.

That rumor is FALSE, Sammy Duke will continue to run the track and there will be no more cut in pay to the drivers.

West Georgia Speedway has been through a lot, and opening of Senoia Speedway will not close West Georgia in anyway.

So drivers and fans we want you to be prepared for some exciting racing action from “The Burg”.

Sammy will be doing his best to make sure all the drivers that race at the track or taken care of.

As soon as those drivers that believe they can win at Senoia race there and their car tears up, or they can’t afford it remember West Georgia Speedway will welcome you back to the track that has been a historic part of the South for years.

So get your fill of Senoia then we will see the real drivers come back to the “Burg” where the track is ready for some great racing action.

See you April 3, 2010 at West Georgia Speedway in Whitesburg, Georgia.

And remember Sammy Duke will be running the track so stop the false rumors.

Many Thanks,

Tino Patti

West Georgia "Fire and Speed" March 20, 2010

The Sign, Drivers love to see!!!

West Georgia Speedway Mar.20, 2010 "Fire and Speed"

March 20th, 2010 and racing at West Georgia Speedway was just what racing fans needed.

Good hard southern style dirt track racing, with plenty of hard action. With some warm weather for a change here in Georgia.

Drivers had just come from practice at Senoia Raceway, and were ready to rumble at "The Burg", and Sammy Duke was ready to let all the drivers show their skills.

“Hurricane” Mike shows his racing attitude!!
The Hillman Brothers work hard on the famous #01J.

Michael Hillman was at WGS working on his brothers Super Street car, the famous #01J is back and is better looking, Hillman the driver or the 01J is known for his not taking 2nd place in a race, but tonight would be different in lots of ways.

Sure Joe had under the hood of his car a "Hurricane Hillman" engine, and sure his car was leaner and meaner looking than what he drove at 7 Flags Speedway. But to get down to the bare bones facts, Joe Hillman is a no nonsense driver and 2nd place is not why he races. He is a proven winner.

Michael Hillman was known at Senoia Asphalt track as "Hurricane Mike Hillman" and he drove his late model to victories in several major races. Now Hurricane has returned to the roots of racing DIRT. So later on I would not be surprised to see one of the greatest dirt track features of all time, when 3 Hillman's are racing in one feature. I am speaking about Joe Hillman his famous brother "Hurricane" Mike Hillman and Mikes son Cory Hillman, now that will be a battle royal, and any other driver on the track better hang on because you will never know what will happen if this race ever happens, and I believe it could and would send the fans rocking and rolling all the way home.

The Super Street race was the major event of the night because "Big" Jeff Carter was back and ready to roll, to another win, he thought. Jeff Carter's repaired car, ready to rock and roll !

But also in the fray was car #29 of Rusty Johnson, who has been one of dirt tracks major headaches because he is a winner. When Johnson is at the track you can look for some great racing action.

So many fans thought it was going to be an easy Jeff Carter win, but most of them were counting out Joe Hillman and Rusty Johnson.
Racing is a Sport you love or hate, and if you are any kind of dirt track fan, you love every minute of racing. You love the sound of the engines cranking up, the smell of the fuel and the smell of the tires. It's all about loving a sport, and a demanding sport at that. I have had people tell me that dirt track drivers are not athletes, are they crazy?.
You have to have some intense feelings when you get inside of a race car and are lined up, in the middle of the pack or near the end of the pack. You have to not have a feeling of being scared or intimidated in any way.
Once that green flag is flying your racing background is on!.

In Dirt track racing "NEVER" count Hillman or Johnson out, I knew from where I was filming the nights features that we were about to see a racing duel, I just had know idea of what was about to happen and that is why dirt track racing is the best.

On asphalt it is always follow the leader but on dirt it is always changing.

The Dirt track at West Georgia Speedway has gotten better, and Sammy Duke is keeping his promises to all his drivers he is not cutting the pay he is paying what he posts. He is also keeping the track in better condition than it has ever been and that is a plus to any driver.
Saturday night the action was great, the drivers I expected to win didn't, and that was just during the hot and heated Super Street race. I thought Jeff Carter would make a run towards the front, I was later to find out he was racing on tires that were old and slower.
While Joe Hillman in his #01j was blasting his way through traffic was following Jeff at times finally passing Jeff where he could set his eyes on #29 of Rusty Johnson, one of dirt track racing premier drivers.
All I knew it was going to be a Hillman - Johnson showdown with Jeff Carter running as hard as he could.
One week ago, Jeff and Mike Hillmans son tangled on the front straight, which sent fire work in the cold damp air in Georgia. First lap, and Cory seemed to cut down on Jeff Carter, after that the cars were tangled and both cars ended up damaged, more so with Carter #3 car which took the worst of the beating. That seemed to be the kindle that started the show off, as "Big Jeff Carter", made his way down the front straightaway looking to put his hands on Cory, all Cory could do was back up and in a hurry, it was then that Sammy Duke came from out of no where placing his ford tractor behind Cory's car so he could not move, it was wild and if you want to see more of the action contact me and I can and will hook you up with a DVD of that race, $20 per DVD and it will be amazing.
Tonight the Super Street race was taking on a hold new ball game, as what seemed to be one of the great races turned into another race that is unforgettable.

The race in Super Street turned into another major race that was no one was giving up.

Hillman would be trailing the #29 car of Rusty Johnson and late in the race smoke appeared coming out of Johnson’s car, my thoughts then turned to he would pull over and let Joe Hillman pass him. Was this about to happen? NO Way, Johnson drove his car which was blazing on fire under the hood to a fiery end of the race. Amazing he came back around and parked his car under the flag stand where officials grabbed fire extinguishers and put out the blazing inferno under his hood.

You could really say, Johnson had a “Hot Car” and he was a winner, but how come he could not see the flames coming from under the hood of his car during those last laps? I mean he was lighting up the West Georgia Night.

To be fair, Joe put on his best show, and tried to pass Rusty but there was no room for error on any of the driver’s part.

So as Rusty Johnson was concerned he won, his car was on fire he was out and everyone was ok, the end of the story. As for as Joe Hillman, he crossed the line and his car slid down into the mud, near the inside wall, he didn’t tear anything up but just came home to a 2nd place finish.
While Jeff Carter went on to a 3rd place finish something he is not used to doing.

For the fans the Super Street race was one you had to be there to see, and enjoy. It was racing, at its best!

The order of finish in the Super Street ends up with:

Rusty Johnson winning in his flaming #29 car

In 2nd place was Joe Hillman in his famous #01J

And in 3rd place was #3 of Jeff Carter.

The rest of the features were just as exciting, even the Modified Mini race which had all time champion #07 Frank Long being beaten by young Eric Hogsed who was driving #9, another drivers car.

Eric, was showing his driving style, he has been a winner in several races but the last time I seen him was at 7 Flags Speedway in Douglasville.

The results from the Modified Mini were:

#9 Eric Hogsed

#07 Frank Long

#27 Talmadge Simpson
The Hobby race was another hard fault better with

#07 Gary Brand who has been a winning driver in this class

#M4 Winford Minix (the purple people eater) finished 2nd and charged hard even at the end.

3rd place was #77 Russell Bright

The SPORTSMAN feature was one that you had to see, because #25 Scott Duffy had his car locked and loaded and was ready, even #99 Rucker Orr was not able to catch him.

Jason Williams was also in this race but was racing in an “Orange” #73 which is his new car. It will later look like his other great car which is black.

William’s is one of the best drivers on the dirt track circuit and has always been available for comments and questions.

Finishing in 3rd place was #99 Rucker Orr, a place that he is not used to finishing.

All I can say is Scott Duffy is now the driver to chase, and he has the car and knows West Georgia Speedway’s track, he is a veteran and knows how to come from the back to the front.

Congratulations to Scott Duffy on his 2nd WIN of the year.

Many Thanks to Everyone,

CORY HILLMAN TAKES THE CHECKERED

CORY HILLMAN, TAKES THE CHECKERED FLAG AT TALLADAGE SHORT TRACK, HE STARTED ON THE POLE TOOK THE GREEN FLAG THEN TOOK THE CHECKERED FLAG, PROVING HE IS A WINNING DRIVER.

THEN SOMEONE TURNED THE LIGHTS OUT ON HIS PARTY, AND HE WAS PLACED BACK IN LAST PLACE BECAUSE HE WAS NOT RUNNING ON HOOSIER TIRES, CORY WAS RUNNING ON AMERICAN TIRES.

SO CORY HILLMAN WAS STRIPPED OF THE WIN, BUT HE STILL HAD THE TIME TO CALL ME TO TELL ME HE WON, BUT WHAT WAS SAD HE WAS DISQUALIFIED.

HILLMAN HAS BEEN A RACING FORCE FOR YEARS, HE HAS GROWN UP IN RACING AND THE WARS. HIS FATHER IS MICHAEL "HURRICANE" HILLMAN AND HIS UNCLE IN MR.JOE HILLMAN OF #01j FAME.

CORY HAS RACED ON SOME OF THE MAJOR DIRT TRACKS IN THE SOUTH, AND WHEN HIS CAR IS RIGHT HE CAN WIN. HE IS ONE OF THE WILDEST RACE CAR DRIVERS ON DIRT TODAY. ONE THING IS FOR SURE CORY HAS BEEN ABLE TO PICK UP A DVD OF HIS RACES AT MY HOME AT ANY TIME, COST JUST $20.00 BUT THE ACTION LASTS FOREVER, SO NEXT TIME YOU WANT TO REMEMBER A SPECIAL RACE LET ME KNOW AND I WILL HOOK YOU UP LIKE I DO ALL THE DRIVERS, PLUS WHEN THEY COME TO MY HOME, THEY HAVE THEIR PHOTO TAKEN, JUST SOMETHING SPECIAL I DO TO ADD TO A COLLECTION OF MEMORIES.

THE NAME HILLMAN IS KNOWN AROUND EVERY DIRT TRACK, HE IS SPECIAL, AND WHEN THE HILLMAN'S COME TO RACE THE RACE WITH ALL THEIR HEARTS.

IF YOU WANT TO SEE SOME REAL RACING ACTION, KEEP YOUR EYE'S ON THIS YOUNG MAN, HE MAY NOT BE THE BEST BUT HE CAN DRIVE WHEN HE WANTS TO, CORY IS A ONE MAN SHOW. I GUESS HE GETS IT ALL FROM HIS SHOWMAN FATHER , MICHAEL "HURRICANE" HILLMAN WHO DROVE LATE MODEL ASPLALT CARS AT SENOIA SPEEDWAY.

HIS UNCLE JOE HILLMAN, HAS BEEN A WINNER ALMOST EVERYTIME HE TAKES THE TRACK, I FIRST MET THE HILLMAN'S WHEN 7 FLAGS SPEEDWAY WAS OPEN AND CROWDS WERE COMING EVERY SATURDAY NIGHT.

7 FLAGS WAS THE PLACE TO BE IN RACING, AND I AM SO HAPPY I HAD THE CHANCE TO COVER SOME EXCITING RACING ACTION THAT WOULD FEATURE YOUNG DRIVERS LIKE , SHANE CLANTON, RICHARD BAGBY, LAMAR HAYGOOD, JOE ARMSTEAD JR. , MIKE HEAD AND SO MANY MORE.

OK, ENOUGH SAID, NEXT TIME YOU WANT TO SEE SOME DIRT TRACK ACTION, MAKE SURE YOU CATCH DRIVERS LIKE CORY HILLMAN, OR JOE HILLMAN OR RICHARD BAGBY AND EVEN JEFF CARTER, ALL STARS IN THEIR ON RIGHT.

THANKS

Short Track Temper FLAIR

SHORT TEMPERS FLAIR AT WEST GEORGIA SPEEDWAY

What can you really say except remember the old saying “ A Elephant NEVER forgets”.

Well same goes for short track drivers, spin someone and later on guess what you are the one being spun.

Take a driver out and you will find yourself in the same mess.

Well Saturday Night at West Georgia Speedway was the ticket you wanted to see, I mean if you wanted drama, guess what you got it more so in the feature of the Super Street race.

Setting it up, things flaired last weekend opening night when Jeff Carter #3 in his super good looking ride, bumped Cory Hillman, nothing bad because Hillman recovered and finished 2nd in the feature while Jeff Carter went on too win the first Super Street race of the 2010 racing season at West Georgia Speedway.

Hillman would later say in an interview that he had lost a spark plug and that is why he could not catch Jeff in the race.

But on March 13, 2010 the Super Street race would be more than anyone wanted to see, when the green flag dropped Cory Hillman in his famous #01x car rounded turn 4 and seemed to slide down into Jeff Carter’s #3 car, which sent Carter’s car spinning wildly down the track and ending up against the outside front straight wall, where the battered car came to rest.

Keeping my camera rolling making sure I seen Jeff Carter exit his battered car was something I needed to do, then again I turned the camera back to Cory Hillman who was rounding turn 4 where he made a stop on the front stretch to have some words with people, and I tell you we don’t need the vocabulary that was being used.

It was then that everyone was remembering the first race and what happed and they thought this was payback time.

The flagman was informed to throw “The Black Flag” on Cory Hillman and make him exit the race track.

The dramatic part of the wreck featured Jeff Carter who had exited his car and was walking down the front straight looking for a way to grab a hold of Cory Hillman and pull him from his car. It was like the old western movie called. “OK Corral” a duel.

Hillman was told by track officials to back up and sure enough he backed up, making sure Carter could not get to him, it was then that Jeff was almost at Cory’s car, when of all things Sammy Duke pulled his Ford Tractor in and behind Cory, who I believed was about to hit Sammy and turn the tractor over, that was crazy, but as soon as he seen he was hemmed in Cory revved his engine and looked like he was on a mission to run over Jeff, to the credit of a fast moving BIG MAN, Jeff Carter tried to grab Cory but Cory in his car sped off and pulled into the pits raising hell.

Now in all honesty, Cory Hillman is a racer and would NEVER try and run over a fellow driver, Cory is a hot-head but Cory has been through a lot and he is a great young driver. Cory Hillman can be at the top of his game one day if he has the right car under him, he can drive with the best of the drivers.

The race went on, with no one knowing what was going on, all we knew was the checkered flag was flying and that was that.

A driver does never forget and I am sure this is not out of Jeff Carter or Cory Hillman’s mind.

After that mess of a race went on, the Modified Mini came onto the track and raced and the wrecks came coming like the super street except not as bad.

At one point premier driver Frank Long in his #07 yellow modified car, would hit the backstretch wall, bouncing off it, but that must have been a wake up call because after that he was back in the lead, coming from behind and making everyone look sick.

The night was cold and damp, but the race cars were all over the place, so the races went on.

In the Hobby car race, the races went as usual, except for the fact the Winford Minix in his #M4 car did not get the win.

After a break, in the action, and for people to grab some coffee, food and head to the rest rooms, we would soon be back to racing.

At intermission , one of the Georgia Big Bad Boys Shane Clanton brought his Super Late Model onto the Burg track and ran some laps checking out his famous #25 car that has been in almost every racing magazine in the country. Clanton raced when I first met him at 7 Flags Speedway in of all things the Sportsman races, now he is well sponsored and his truck and hauler look like a major boat.

Shane is from Locust Grove Georgia and is a family man, but races in the “World of Outlaws” where he travels all over the United States.
One thing for sure it was a major deal to have Clanton practice on the West Georgia Speedway track, I mean fans got the chance to see Clanton up close and watch him drive.

After the break the Sportsman Feature was ready to run and it would be a “Orrless race” , earlier in hot laps Rucker Orr’s engine blew giving away and that was his night.

So the field was set and we still had some super drivers like, Scott Duffy in his new #25 car, Duffy a hard worker and a gentleman in racing, has no crew and he works alone, saying sometime people tend to let you down, and that is a fact in life.

Also in the race would be Locust Groves own, #73 of Jason William one of the real class act drivers. He is never afraid to start in the back or on this not on the pole. He is a driver that is unmatched in talent.

Then we had #B2 which was being driven by Roger Casell. Casell is well known for driving his #13 sportsman car.

When the green flag fell, Duffy took the lead, but Williams was hot on his trail, it seemed Scott had his car locked and loaded and was ready.

Late in the race, William’s was catching Duffy but on the back straight Williams car got sideways and that sealed the deal as Duffy rode his car to his first win at West Georgia Speedway and this was something I had waited for a long time, I did not believe I would have to wait till March 13, 2010 to see him take the checkered flag.

What would the race have been like if Rucker Orr was in the race know one really knows, all we do know is Rucker is having bad engine trouble.

Orr is not used to making a race, and I am sure he will have his #99 car back and ready to win next weekend at the “BURG”.

The results of all features went like this
MOD. MINI
1. 07 FRANK LONG
2. 13 HEATH BREWSTER
3. 3 TODD BREWSTER

SUPER STREET

1. 77 ROBERT INGRAM

2. 14 DAVID CHAPMAN
3. 55 ROBBY

HOBBY

2. M4 Winford Miniz

3. 46 Charlie Garrett

SPORTSMAN
1. 25 SCOTT DUFFEY 1st WIN

Hope you will be back at “The Burg” this Saturday Night March 20,2010 for some of the South’s greats racing!.
