Who is Kenny Collins?

“EVER HEARD OF KENNY
“QUICK” COLLINS”

Last weekend at Senoia Raceway, Kenny drove his #21C limited late model against some of the toughest drivers in Georgia.

Collins raced his way past #99 Rucker Orr, one of Georgia’s top drivers, and he blazed his way trying to catch and pass #9 of Shane Fulcher.

What can we say but Kenny is an amazing young and talented driver who I look forward to seeing making it to NASCAR as well as conquering dirt tracks all around the South.

Ever heard of Colbert, Georgia? Well I am sure you will once he becomes as famous as I believe he can and will be.

One more thing else Kenny is just 18 years old, and believe it our not owns and runs his own business.
Called Collins Signs
, located in Colbert, Georgia.

His major sponsors are of course Collins Signs, AC Electric, Collins Auto Salvage, Simpson Racing Products, Quality Glass Company, Adkins Racing Engines and J.Moore Trucking.

Kenny is a well rounded racer, with a background that is so intense, including being a FFA Member, EMC Electrification Awards from 2007.

In 2008 Kenny won local Madison EMC Competition
Won the area II FFA/EMC CDE Contest where 19 counties were represented, Kenny received a $500 Scholarship.

He would go on to finish in 6th place in the State FFA/EMC/CDE/Contest. All contest consisted of wiring electrical problems, taking a written and a test in speech.

In 2009 Kenny won Local Madison County EMC Competition.
He would finish 2nd in the Area II FFA/EMC/CDE Contest (17 counties represented) He would go on to receive a $300 Scholarship.

And Kenny’s lists goes on and on and on, but what about his racing career?

Well in 1998-2002 He had 57 Go Kart Wins.
He also competed in Rookie, Purple Plate, Blue Plate and Gold Plate through out his karting career. With all those “Plates” sounds like he should have got fat, meaning “Blue Plate specials, and so on”.

Then in 1999 Kenny place 2nd in Purple Plates.
In 1999 Kenny received “The Hard Charger” Award for the entire track.
In 2001 Kenny grabbed 2nd in the Purple Plate awards
And in 2001 he would finish in 3rd place in the Blue Plate Points.

Then it was off to cars, and Kenny would again put on some incredible shows.
In 2003, Beginner 4-Cyl, at the age of 11.

3 Wins at Lavonia & Hartwell
Runner-up in Georgia State Championship (Lavonia)
5th place in points at Lavonia

2004 was another great year, where Kenny in his 4 CYL car, captured 14 Wins at 2 tracks.

He would go on to win the Georgia State Championship in Lavonia and also the Points champion as well.

Then in 2004 Kenny drove Stock 4 CYL and captured 3 Wins at 2 tracks.
He also finished in 4th place in Points at Hwy.106 Speedway.

Then in 2005 Kenny moved up in racing to the wild and wooly Enduro/Modified Street class.
Here he would again win 9 races at 4 tracks.

Then people started to notice Kenny as he went to East Alabama Motor Speedway, for the National 100, where 53 cars were entered and every one was a top notch driver. Kenny would finish 1st in the Heat race, and believe it or not in the MAIN race he would finish 4th place. That got everyone asking who, is Kenny “Quick” Collins.

It was then that Kenny started to climb the ladder of racing, with Crates in 2007, where he took his first win on 10-6-07. The Party was on, and everyone knew that Kenny was a driver to be dealt with.
In 2010 in Limited Late Model and with a Barry Wright Chassis Kenny would grab his first win in a Limited Late Model on Mar.19, 2010.

All together Kenny Collins has had 31 Wins ranging from Lavonia Speedway, Toccoa Speedway, Westminster Speedway, Winder Speedway, Hwy 106 Speedway and Hartwell Speedway.

As a student Kenny was an A/B student in College Prep classes at Madison County High School.

Currently Kenny is an A/B Student at Athens Technical College. His objective is to earn an Associates Degree in Marketing Management.

This 18 year old is the proud owner of his own business called Collins Signs, which is operates when not racing.

Getting down to knowing Kenny could be a hard time job, because he is always on the move.

Kenny appreciates all the support he gets from every supporter and all the die hard race fans in Georgia.

Also his sponsors and especially his wonderful parents “Robin and Kim Collins”, plus his grandparents “Johnny & Patsy Doster”.

To be honest, Kenny Collins is marked for a super racing career. He has all the talent that any driver needs, plus he is smart, and some drivers need to learn from watching Collins drive.

Collins put on a driving display on May 22, 2010 at Senoia Raceway in the Limited Late Model race, where he battle his way to take 2nd place, and almost captured a win, and he was running with the best of the best from #99 Rucker Orr, who is one heck of a driver to #9 of Shane Fulcher who had won the $2000 dollar race just one week ago.

Since I had no idea who was driving the #21C car, I was just filming some of the best racing action at Senoia Raceway, and #9 Fulcher and #21C of Collins had some heated door to door racing.

Fan’s were on their feet and cheering, just all part of what Tim and Tony Moses plus Jack and Mark Mills have put together to make Senoia Raceway the place for racing fans to be on Saturday nights.

When Kenny does come back to race at Senoia I am sure he would like to take home his first win at the South’s newest race track, the “New Senoia Raceway, the fastest 3/8th oval on DIRT.

Come on back Kenny,

the fans can’t wait.

Many Thanks to everyone,
