Scott Sherrer, is heading back to Senoia maybe?
Will the #41 Hobby car of Scott Sherrer, make a return after a family vacation with his family to the New Senoia Raceway?
You know when Allen McConnell took the checkered flag in last weeks hobby race, it was amazing, because he fought his way to the front and missed the wrecks to get to the top and win in this class.
Sherrer was not there so I was wondering what would have happened if he had been racing.
All I do know is Allen McConnell’s car looked well and of course was good enough to take the win.
If Scott Sherrer would have been racing, and Allen would have beaten him, Allen could have picked up the $250 dollar bounty that was on Sherrer, but since Sherrer was not there, the bounty was off.
As this writer knows, the bounty in the hobby class has been dropped.
Scott Sherrer has become some kind of real mystery driver, but when he wins he is all smiles, and you know everyone on “The Legend” has gotten to know him as he has been interviewed several times by William Barber on Southern Race Week.
96.7 FM on every Wednesday night features a 1 hour racing show starting at 7 PM to 8 PM. Hope you catch this amazing show. The show covers NASCAR, Oval, and Drag racing events in and around the area.
Racing is sometimes fierce and often shows some real classic down hard racing at New Senoia Raceway.
Jack Mills, Tony and Tim Moses were watching the radar on the computers upstairs in the booth, Tim’s wife was watching the radar, and that is why only Allen McConnell, got the standing interview after the race, all the other feature winners just had their photos taken on the front straight. Because there was no time to waste with interviews, it was more or less line the cars up and let’s go racing, which was great in some ways.
What seemed to slow things up, and had everyone worried was the fact that they had 18 limited late model cars to qualify, plus 16 crate cars to qualify also, so it was a real time.
Fans were starting to worry with all the qualifying, but it must be down, so all they could do is sit back look up at the skies and in between that head to the concession stand for some outstanding food.
That made Mark Mills very happy because that is how they make extra money, and if you have not eaten at the concession stand what are you waiting for?
Racing is always great at New Senoia Raceway, but when you combine great racing with great food, what more can a dirt track fan want.
I look forward to watching, Crate car driver #18 young and talented 14 year old Matt Dooley, who will be back in his crate car. Dooley started in the back of the field because he wanted to feel out his new car, but he would go on to finish in 8th place which is great when you think back as to how he rolled his old #18 car at Dixie Speedway. Most drivers would have hung up his helmet and walked away and chose another sport. Not Matt Dooley, this young man and his father Scott Dooley have really been a blessing by getting his car back together and listening to his son, when he could have started up front but he chose to start in the back, this is a pure honest driver.
The Limited Late Model race was won again by #18C of Shane Criswell who has been a racing force at Senoia raceway, chasing him down was #99 Rucker Orr who is battling to get his car in shape. Chasing Orr was #25 Scott Duffy, but Duffy would be passed by #9 of Shane Fulcher.
Every race was exciting, and it was like someone had moved the rain away from New Senoia Raceway and every race went on without a hitch. This was great for Tony, Tim Moses plus Jack Mills.
The pure mini stock class was won by #16r of Eric Hogsed, who has been a winner in any car he drives.
The car that blew everyone away in the Modified Mini class was #9 of Evan “Ricky Bobby” Lancaster.
Chasing him down was drivers like #27 Talmadge Simpson and #07 of veteran driver Frank Long, a long time winner.
The B-Cadet race was just what everyone predicted a all out war between veteran driver, #3 Jeff Carter and young and talented #01 of Blant Duke, who has been racing since he was 15 years old at West Georgia Speedway. Duke tried several times to lay his front bumper on Jeff’s car, and maybe spin him but Blant never did.
Jeff would go on to WIN the B-Cadet race, and now he is back in the groove, whenever Carter is at a track keep a eye out on his #3 red car with the checkered top, he can and will win when he has the chances.
