NEW SENOIA RACEWAY TO OFFER POINT SERIES IN 2011

January 1, 2011 (Senoia, GA) New Senoia Raceway will open its second season under the direction of Tim and Tony Moses with a few addedItalic incentives for local and regional competitors. Drivers planning to compete at the 3/8ths mile clay oval will have the opportunity to claim track championships in 2011. The track did not offer a point series when it reopened as a clay track last season.

This year’s point champions will join a long list of former title winners including legendary short track champion Mike Head, Leon Archer, Bubba Pollard

and Glen McWaters.

A season long point series will be offered to the drivers in each weekly

division of Late Models, Crate Late Models, B-Cadet, Hobby Stock and Mini Stock. The Crate Late Model divisionon will also run for the

track, regional and national points honors offered through the NeSmith Crate Late Model Series.

"Our drivers asked about a point series,” said Tim Moses. “We will have twenty-two nights of points racing including a mid-season championship and a double point’s night. It will add drama to the weekly series events for the fans and reward the competitors for a strong year of racing.

The 2011 New Senoia Raceway schedule will open with three Open Practice dates on Saturday, March 12, 19 and 26. Competitors in all divisions are welcome to hot lap while preparing their cars for the

season opener and season points chase. The grandstand will be open for spectators on each of the practice dates.

The season opener is set for Saturday, April 2nd and will feature all five of the weekly divisions in action. The following Saturday night will feature a Late Model Special event with the first point’s event slated for Saturday, April 16th. The twenty-two night series of Senoia Saturday Nights will conclude with the season’s final night of points on Saturday, September 24th.

Special events for each weekly division will highlight the schedule along with a trio of dates for the winged outlaw sprint cars and possibly a date or two for regional late model tours. The track will also host various fun events including a Mini Van Demolition Derby, a first time visit by the Green Mamba Jet Car and Kids Rides in the Race Cars.

“Every night will feature something fun and exciting for the fans,” added Moses. “We know our racers can put on a show. Our additions will give the kids the opportunity for more fun when they visit the speedway and the adults will enjoy the extras we have created. Maybe we can also introduce our racing program to families that have not visited New Senoia Raceway and are looking for an entertaining Saturday night.

The Senoia Saturday Night point series will allow competitors in the Late Model, Crate Late Model, B-Cadet, Hobby Stock and Mini Stock

to accumulate points throughout the season. After the conclusion in September, the top ten drivers in each division will be honored with season awards along with point fund bonuses. The track is currently planning a track banquet after the racing season concludes.

Racing Action will be amazing and crazy, one thing for sure you will see some of the best of Georgia plus Alabama's dirt track drivers, as they converge on Senoia Raceway, all I can say is racing at Senoia will take on a new meaning with

the Points in Place, I mean you will see some of the best trying to capture those important points.

Drivers like Rucker Orr in his

famous #99 is ready to show the lead around the 3/8th oval track which is the "fastest

in the South".

But Orr will have competition from fellow warriors in dirt track action such as "Racing Jason" Williams, and Shane Fulcher, plus Rodney Peters and yes Little Joe Armistead Jr. in his #21 that had to

be the car to chase down in 2010.

BUT who cares this is 2011 and a new racing season, which will see some great champions like #41 Scott Sherrer. But who

will be

racing in Hobby that will be able to beat him. We know #M4 Winford Minix will be back as always, and maybe

we will see the new arrival of #K1 and that is top gun Kip Stanfill, who can hold his own with any of the best. Kip will be returning to racing after a while off from running his own automotive shop in

Douglasville, Georgia.

"Kips Automotive, inc."

What ever happens we know that the B-Cadets will be the race that everyone wants to watch as the return of legend #B7 Billy Bright Sr. returns

to show his son Billy Bright Jr. in his

#B7 Jr. car how it is like to race with the man that has been around for 32 years. So we shoud see some real racing action, now who do you think will be win?

Sr.or Jr. or will the Brights be blown away by some other driver?.

"Welcome to the SOUTH"

Then it will be time for the Crates and I am sure you will

see some of

the greats return like # 11 Levon Sparks, or could he be run down by #M96 and that would be young Marty Lundsford, then again what about another young gun #18 Matt Dooley, and

who could leave out #o "The Zero Hero" Craig Scott. Then again I would never count out "Todd Darda".

I know you can't wait, and neither can I but wait we have not even talked about those Pure mini cars, with drivers that will not lay back, drivers that WIN BIG RACES, like #00 Matt Black, #16 Stephen Hill, #4 Dusty Jones and of course #7 Russell Bright,

who is always running near the front of the field.

All I can say is these

Pure Mini drivers come to the track armed with nothing but wanting to win, they slide they spin they bump they rub they RACE.

And you know some one WINS.

Then they bring on the Late Models, with the best drivers

of the South. These are the people you come to watch, from Rucker Orr to Jason Williams to Joe Armistead Jr, to Shane Fulcher and this season his Father will be racing, another Sr.Jr. battle.

Another driver that has always been a talent is #25 Scott Duffy and when his car is right, he can be on, and he can steal a win from the best of the best.

I want to wish Tim and Tony Moses the best of luck as they run the track in the 2011 season, and if they put on the shows they did in 2010 we should see some of the best racing action around, plus I am sure Tim has some surprises that will fill the stands. Maybe a demolition derby. Plus I am sure we will see some Super Late Models race at Senoia

before the 2011 racing season is over, all I can say is make sure your plans are set for April 2nd 2011 when the Senoia Opens, and the fun begins, as we all go back and "Play in the Clay".
