In Memory of Charlie Sims, passing on 12-31-10 a father who cared for his Son, Mark Sims Jr, a close bond was made.
He was a lover of his family, and his family loved him
Mark always got some good advice from his FATHER.
Mark Sims lost his father on 12-31-10 , and our prayers go out to him and his family.
Some times life, can deal us a raw hand, but GOD is in control of everything that happens, and for those that do not know young Mark Sims, well maybe you will get to know him from where I am sitting.
Mark's,father was a loving man, and cared for his son, as they traveled from race track to race track, He was always looking out for his son as any Father would do.
Mark started off racing, in Pure Mini and was a blast to watch, he would be so happy just to have finished a race, and you could see in his eye's he was a mover and a shaker, he had this warmth about him. Check out these photos of young Mark as he came to my home car in tow to pick up a DVD of a race he had run on Saturday night at West Georgia Speedway.
Mark Sims, always smiling, with his #22 pure mini car, at West Georgia Speedway, he was always a gentleman and that is what I believe he got from his father.
You had to see the excitement in his eye's and he was always ready to go racing.
He was so relaxed in this shot, it is one of my favorite out of many of photos of Mark.
Then Mark moved to Crate cars, and I knew it would be a challenge, but challenges have never bothered Mark, when he was racing he was having fun, and it did not matter who the other drivers were, just as long as he drove and he would always drive a clean race.
Mark was so proud of his Crate car, and his father was always there when he could be there at a race track helping his son, encouragement, and praise even when he came in last. Fathers can be that way, they give support and that is something you could tell Mark had from his father Support, and love.
Mark is a racer, and as a racer, you have to take things in strides, sometimes your up and sometime your down, but whatever it is it can be fixed. Losing his Father, is something you don't get over fast, but if he races in 2011 I believe he will dedicate every race to his father.
In 2011 Mark told me he would be dedicating all his WINS to his late father, so he is LOCKED and LOADED.
