CLASS DRIVERS COME OUT IN THE COLD WEATHER

THESE ARE VETERANS OF DIRT TRACK "WARS"

Richard Bagby known as "KING" at Whitesburg, talks with veteran driver in Pure Pony, Rocky Johnson, who has been faithful to West Georgia Speedway.

Then the youngest and newest Modified Mini Driver, with a Legend for a Father, Landon Bagby

Lamar Haygood slips into his racing shoes to be ready for practice with his super fast late model that he will be running at "The Bama Bash", or better "The Ice Bowl".

Richard in this photo, you can tell shows all the Love and Pride for his young racing son. Landon Bagby who is only 13 but drives like a veteran and when you have a famous father that maybe that all it takes..

His Eyes, tell the whole story, meet Late Model driver, Lamar Haygood, who has one thing on his mind when he charges onto a racetrack and that is "Winning", His Eyes tell you the story of a real warrior.

Lamar, "Playing in the DIRT", his famous #17 slides around the "Burg", and he seems to have no trouble at all.

Mashing the gas, Haygood fires down the backstrech of West Georgia Speedway, a man on a mission.

Signs of WARS are on the sides of Haygoods car, and it proves he has been dancing with the big guys, damages like this shows he is not afraid of a war in a race, shove him he will shove back.

Every great driver needs a crew, and here TIM, stands beside Lamars cars and makes sure they are on the right page as for as the car setup, faithful old TIM is someone that has been with Lamar for years.

FLAT OUT, GETTING IT, CHECK OUT THE DUST FLYING BEHIND, LAMAR'S CAR AS HE COMES OUT OF 4 AND HEADS TO THE CHECKED FLAG. To bad this was only Practice, but someone will be beat by Haygood in this upcomming season of 2010.

Now here is a SHOT of a lifetime, Richard has just climbed out Lamars late Model and put on a show in front of his young Son, Landon Bagby.

Filled with Joy and amazement, Richard climbs out in excitement and his son Landon, strolls by him sucking on a sucker, almost saying "Not bad for a Old man"

Richard, was filled with POWER after taking that spin around the old Burg, rememeber Richard has been and always will be a CLASS Driver and a Proven Winner, in every type of car.

He put on many super shows in the sportsman feature between Shane Clanton at the late great 7 Flags Speedway.
Some I still have on Vidoe, because I was filming these Wars!

Racing belongs to CLASS drivers like Richard Bagby and Lamar Haygood, veterans of the wars on DIRT.

To see the best drivers you have to know the best drivers, and Bagby and Hayood are at the top of the pole in racing.

Many Thanks,

WGS,Little River, Senoia

West Georgia Speedway, Little River Speedway, Senoia Raceway, what have all they in common?

THEY ARE DIRT TRACKS!

West Georgia Speedway is known as “THE BURG”, and if you can drive and win there you can win on any track, put it this way there has been some great drivers run on the track, thinking they would cruise to a easy win, and then something strange happened, I call it “THE FORCE OF THE UNKNOWN”.
Just when a driver thinks he has the race in the bag and all he has to do is go and collect his money, something happens with his car, something like a curse.

West Georgia Speedway is 3/8-mile dirt, semi-banked, oval track that is located off Highway 16 and Wellington Mill Road in Whitesburg, Georgia. It is family-owned since 1992

The track is owned and operated by Sammy Duke who has kept it afloat for over 35 years serving the Northwest part of Georgia.

If you want to see some classic racing, with down to earth drivers, West Georgia Speedway is the place to be on Saturday nights. You have great fans and a tough track, with tougher drivers.

Little River Speedway
If you are looking for a place in Alabama to race, look no farther than the new and improved Little River Speedway, (which was known once as Hollis-Crossroads).

The owner and promoter of this cleaned up track is a 28 year old that has some big ideas for racing, and he seems to know what he wants in life. Little River Speedway has been renovated to become a class race track. How do you get there?
As Wren Goodman the promoter says, “We are located 1/2 mile from Hollis Crossroads down Highway 431 south.”

The Speedway itself is located at 9104 Highway 431 Heflin, Alabama.

For all kinds of information regarding this super cleaned up race track, which will have some fantastic racing shows coming up, all you have to do is contact Wren Goodman at 1-256-488-5148.

WREN GOODMAN FOR ALL INFO

So if you’re looking for racing action, Little River Speedway looks like the track that will be putting on some big time shows, so BE THERE!

SENOIA RACEWAY
If you are looking for a Historic Track, then look no farther than Senoia Raceway, that’s right “THE NEW SENOIA RACEWAY”. This track went back to DIRT, for the 2010 racing season.

Jack Mills along with Tony Moses, and Tim Moses, have brought back dirt track racing to an asphalt track.

WE ARE MAKING GREAT PROGRESS WITH CONVERTING THE TRACK BACK TO DIRT. WHEN IT IS COMPLETED WE CAN BEGIN WORK ON THE NEW GO KART TRACK AND CONTINUE TO GET READY FOR THE 2010 SEASON. WE WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR ALL THEIR INTEREST IN NEW SENOIA RACEWAY. THE SEASON WILL BE HERE BEFORE WE KNOW IT.
THE SCHEDULE FOR 2010 IS STILL IN THE WORKS BUT WE DO HAVE A NESMITH LATE MODEL EVENT SET FOR SUNDAY, MAY 30TH. IT WILL BE A $2000 TO WIN 40 LAP FEATURE. WE PLAN ON OPENING THE SEASON NEAR THE FIRST OF APRIL.
RESERVED PIT PARKING IS AVAILABLE AT A COST OF $300 PER SEASON. RESERVED TAILGATE PARKING ALONG FENCE IS AVAILABLE AT A COST OF $300 PER SEASON.FOR INFORMATION CONTACT: JACK MILLS 770-990-5201.THE RULES ARE POSTED UNDER THE RULES TAB AND ANY QUESTIONS SHOULD BE E-MAILED TO NEWSENOIARACEWAYTECH@EARTHLINK.NET.
FOR ALL OTHER INFORMATION PLEASE E-MAIL RACE DIRECTOR JACK MILLS AT NEWSENOIARACEWAYDIRECTOR@EARTHLINK.NET.

When I filmed races there in the 2000 season, the track was known as the fastest 3/8th Oval in Georgia! Remember it was Asphalt then.

The New Senoia Raceway is known as The fastest 3/8th DIRT Oval in Georgia!

There website is easy it is: http://www.newsenoiaraceway.com/

Remember racing season is almost here, and now that West Georgia Speedway is holding some practices on Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon till dark, it is a great time for a driver to take their car down before the “Bama Bash” to check it out.

What I enjoy most is getting down to the track and I know February is still a long way off, but to hear the sound of the engines makes you wish it was March and you were at the track.

Come to think about it, and I will mention it briefly, Sammy Duke said before it is over he plans on running some Late Model Shows that will pay $1500 to win, like I told him if he wants to see some real fans fill his stands, that is all he needs to do, put on a few LATE MODEL Shows.

Those are just some things in the works at West Georgia Speedway, who knows what will happen.

Thanks

Pictures and Tracks and Stories come on read some!

SENOIA SPEEDWAY

"Back TO DIRT", IN THIS 2010 RACING SEASON!

Yes it's Dirt over the Asphalt, why dig up a good track when you can just dump loads of dirt on top and make it a superior racing facility.
Why tear up the asphalt when you never know you may want to race short track races again.

What can you say, except "When is the first race?"

Jack Mills, with Tony Moses and Tim Moses have brought Senoia back to life after years and years of rumor, that the track would return to DIRT. Remember they were only rumors, and some drivers were wishing, well maybe their wishes have come true.

I know in 2000 when I was filming there, it was hot and the asphalt made it worse. Plus such a long drive for me not to see any pay out. I mean, if you were looking for racing, Asplalt was not the place to see it at. Remember I had worked a few years prior to Senoia at 7 Flags Speedway where racing was racing, and I mean on the dirt. Lots of great drivers won at this wonderful old speedway. Drivers like Shane Clanton, Richard Bagby, Lamar Haygood, Little Joe Armstead, Frank Long, Joe Hillman, and so many more great drivers some who still drive today.

How many times have we heard how great it would be to have Senoia back like it was in those glory years and filled with dirt, where racing is racing. No more asphalt, follow me around and around and around, with the dirt back on the track you will see some of the greatest racing on Dirt.

Promoter Jack Mills has rules that will be followed are you will not race, this will be a no nonsence race track payout will be on the level, and cars will be checked and everything better be legal.

Lots of time and money has been invested in this project that looks to put some of the smaller tracks out of business, like West Georgia Speedway, where driving is a hazard. One thing for sure at West Georgia Speedway or "The Burg" as I call it, if you can win there you can win on any track.

The Burg is known to take no prisoners, and when drivers come and race there they know they are in for a battle. But taking that checkered flag is a prize in itself, because if you have won on this track you have won it all.

To find out more about Senoia Speedway just click the link and take a look yourself.

How many drivers will try and win at Senoia, on the dirt?, who will be the first? and Will it be the same as in the years past at racing there?.

All I can say is good luck Jack and Tony and Tim, because you will need it, but remember you are bringing back some real history and that is a great thing.

The amazing Sammy Duke, who can pull wreck cars off the track with his loyal Ford F150 tractor than any NASCAR race, Sammy has no time for idleness.

That brings me back to the track that has been called to hard to tame, and that is the one I call "The Burg". West Georgia Speedway has been in excistence since 1992 or before. The man at the helm of this ship, is still Sammy Duke, one of the South's legends of his own kind.

When driver came to West Georgia Speedway they knew how Sammy was, and some drivers got angry with this old man, and would leave and never return. One thing you have to say Sammy never put on a bad show for the fans. What seems like ages ago when the famous 7 Flags Speedway closed down in Douglasville, Georgia, it was either race at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock Georgia or Rome Georgia or maybe take those long drives to Alabama for some racing at East Alabama Speedway. Most drivers who wanted to remain racing went to West Georgia Speedway, where there they put on a show. Sammy seemed to have things working his way, but you have to move on when progress approachs, and if you don't the good times will pass you by.

For pure pounding side by side racing, and all hell breaking loose, "The Burg" was the place to watch a race. Some of the wildest and fastest drivers came and raced and gave their cars everything they had in them. Some of the wildest races I have filmed, I mean last lap nail biters, also crashes where drivers would get out of their wrecked cars, and howl at the moon!.

Then you had some of the really crazy races like the imortal "Fog Bowl", a race that everyone either pulled over or drove like he had some great sence and that would be Alabama's own pride and joy, Ryan Law.

West Georgia Speedway has seen some action, I mean, if you wanted to see some rough house driving, West Georgia was the place to be on a Saturday night, some drivers can't take losing and it shows.

Then you have some of the classist drivers around, who win, take the money go home and come back to race the next weekend, holding no grudge.

A Winning driver is a driver that has pactience and does not let others get into his mind. These are winning drivers.

And a Winning driver is not one that trys to win the race on the first lap, these are the ones that most good drivers end up going around, most of your smarter drivers lay back staying out of the wrecks that seem to come early.

Can't see his face, I planned it this way when I took the shot, the young man filling out my note pad is young and talented Wren Goodman who at the age of 28 has taken on a challange because he has taken over a track that was known as Hollis Crossroads, and was known to be one of the worst tracks in Georgia, but Wren being young and having a goal has renamed the track as "Little River Speedway", at Hollis Crossroads in Alabama.

Wren is the type of man that when you meet him you see his honesty in his face, he works hard all day and drives home to Alabama and there he takes care of his family.

Being 28 and having such great goals is something I wish more promoters had.

So fans and drivers here is the run down, write it down and remember that when you race at Little River Speedway you will be racing on a new and improved track.

Here are some facts you may need to know, Practices will be held on March 6. 2010, this practice will be a day before the Bama Bash.

Wren will start out the full racing season March 13, 2010 if I understand him correct "March Madness" will feature $1000 to win, Limited + Crate

$750 to win Hobby, and $500 to Win Pure Pony.

Gates will open at 12 noon, practice starting at 5 pm

Also remember on March 13, and 14th which is a two day event Wren will pay out for the Limited Openwheel $1000 to win

Hobby - Streetstock $750

Pure Pony - Mod-Pony $500

Fans should be excited because the entry to the stands remains $10.00 while Pits are $25.00

Plus children 12 and under get in FREE.

Wren is one of these promoters that is looking out for the fans, he will be putting on some great shows and I know that he will be making you feel great. There are so many changes that I don't have time to go through everything but I will keep you in the loop as to what Little River Speedway is doing and what is happening. So all you have to do is continue to check this BLOG.

I also want you to know that if you want to see some racing excitement, Little River Speedway will be the place to take the families on Saturday nights.

Drivers I want to let you know that Wren Goodman is as nice as he can be, he is not stuck up in the air, and I am sure once you get to know him you also will see the glimmer of excitement in his eyes. That is one reason I have this photo of him without showing his face, so be ready for some great racing at his new and improved track.

Thanks

Merry Christmas, to all the fans and drivers

Merry Christmas to every Dirt Track race fan!!!

Hey Race Fans are your ready to hear the roar and rumble of those amazing dirt cars again?. sure you are and I know how you feel.

The weather is cold, and bleak, and all I am wishing for is a safe and merry Christmas to all my fans and great drivers who I hope to be in contact again starting in March 2010.

Sammy Duke will have West Georgia Speedway ready for Feb. for Practices and racing will begin in March, when I have know idea. West Georgia will begin in March 2010.
Then again how many drivers will be heading over to the new and improved “Little River Speedway” where Wren Goodman is the promoter and runs the track and makes sure everyone is happy.

And please don’t forget about the New Senoia Speedway, back to Dirt, and Jack Mills and his crew are lining up some exciting racing action just like back in the old days when the track was dirt and was fast. Then again how many remember those days?

I remember Senoia Speedway because I was filming during the HOT Georgia weather, I thought I was making my way to NASCAR but all I seen was cars go around and around and around and was so boring. That is when that amazing phrase came out “Asphalt is for getting you to the DIRT Track”.
I filmed for 1 year every feature and now I know what it must be like to film NASCAR events, boring!

I have met some of the best dirt track drivers around and I call them my friend. I know they know me and I know them and that makes for some great bonds. I have some special drivers that I really look out for, then again, I am not making calls I am just trying to promote drivers who are winners. They may not win every night but they are there racing hard in these crazy times.

Writing and filming has become something I do best and later on, you may want to buy a copy of a new book I am working on, and you can imagine it is filled with racing names and stories from 7 Flags Speedway the now closed track in Douglasville, Georgia, to my many night of working Senoia Speedway in the heat of the nights.
Then again finishing out at 7 Flags Speedway, until the track was closed and demolished and what seemed like the good times were over.

Then without knowing what to expect I asked Sammy Duke if I could come in and film and make my own money, since I was working with my own camera and without a thought Sammy said “Come On”. So I have worked hard at West Georgia Speedway knowing that every dollar I made went to help feed my family and also take care of my wife who is not in good condition.

Since I was working hard, I really got to know some of the drivers better, each time I sold them a DVD they would watch it and go back and reset their car and come back to win the next week.

I guess in some way I really feel good when they win because I know that the continent watching of a DVD of their race, maybe what lets a driver make the proper set-up on his car. When they win it is an all around celebration not only for me but for the driver.

Car’s and drivers are awesome, but how many times have I seen the best races and it all came down to that last white flag lap, one to go, and some where between 1 and 4 the lead car was passed and the second place car took the checkered flag.
I have met the best of drivers, from Lamar Haygood, to Richard Bagby, to Jeff Carter and Joe Hillman, and who could leave out #69 Roscoe Collins, plus greats like Glenn McWaters and Rucker Orr and his father Ken Orr. I have met new drivers like Jason Williams and his father Buck Williams, and then there are always the true and faithful drivers like Rocky Johnson, Tim Collier, and Danny Smith.

Filming races has become some kind of passion for me, I mean I do it because I love watching a driver race, and later in the week call me and ask me for a copy of the race, because he either wants to reset his car up, or he wants to see who wrecked him out, and some times that can get messy.

What has always amazed me is drivers who try and win the race on the first lap, I mean come on get real, smart drivers lay back to not get caught up in those early wrecks. Then again faster drivers are up front and have nothing in their way to avoid and that is the best place to be.

Well I am not going to go on and on and on, I am just going to put an old DVD of a race at West Georgia Speedway in the player and watch some racing. See who wins, and listen to the engines roar.

To everyone I want to wish you a very safe and Merry Christmas and please remember racing season is not that far off, so hang in there and I hope to see you at one of the tracks this year or maybe even 2 tracks if I am lucky.

Merry Christmas,

Your Friend always,

Tino Patti

Racing Season when and where?

RACING COME ON, WHICH TRACK IS BEST FOR YOU?

The racing season is over and the weather is cold and damp as we all go through this month of December where all your Christmas dreams I hope will come true.

As for as Racing goes, West Georgia Speedway will practice in February 2010, and the will begin full racing programs in March. Sammy Duke the owner is going with a Saturday night show in March and will think about changing over to a Friday night show in April, then again you really have know idea what Sammy Duke will do, things change every night at West Georgia Speedway.

The only reason Sammy would go to a Friday night race would be because of the new track opening at Senoia Speedway, which has been covered over with dirt. Do not worry, the asphalt is still there, but it will be hidden. Jack Mills will be leading the racing and will be in charge of it all.

Jack Mills has Tony Moses and Tim Moses helping him in this huge endeavor. Saturday night racing will be back to the dirt in April 2010 as Senoia lights racing season up for the fans.

I wonder how the asphalt drivers are feeling knowing the track is going dirt?

Jack is fixing Senoia up to become a premier race track and have all the goodies like Green Valley has.

How much will he charge to get in? I have still have know idea yet, but I am sure you will see a great racing show.

New Senoia Raceway Goes Back To DIRT In 2010!
Tune in to 96.7 FM on December 2nd, 2009 @ 7:00 PM. New Senoia Raceway owner Tim Moses discusses upcoming details about the exciting "Back to Dirt" 2010 race season.New Senoia Raceway Goes Back To DIRT In 2010! New owners are Tim Moses, Tony Moses, and Jack Mills. Over the winter the track will be converted back to dirt and a NEW 1/4 mile Go Kart track added to the facility. Both will be Ready To Go for 2010! Classes, rules, and schedule will be announced in the near future. We are extremely excited to bring back the Best Racing On Dirt to the New Senoia Raceway. Now that all the official stuff is out in the open, I want to wish every race fan and their families to have the best of Christmas’s and may you be blessed and receive what you “need” and not just what you want.

There is so much I need and want, but I would rather just meet my needs and go on in life, also I want to make sure I support every race driver out there, and I know lots of drivers.

May you all have a very blessed Christmas and keep safe and let’s get ready for a great racing season, in the dirt, where racing is supposed to be.

Thanks to All,
