THANKS AGAIN

TO ALL MY DRIVERS, AND FRIENDS AND THEIR FAMILIES FOR THE YEARS OF ACTION PACKED EXCITEMENT I HAVE BEEN COVERING FOR YEARS, FROM SENOIA RACEWAY TO WEST GEORGIA SPEEDWAY, ACTION EVERYWHERE.
AND ALSO THANK YOU TO THE GREAT FANS AT ALL THE DIRT TRACKS HERE IN THE SOUTH, YOU ARE THE BEST.

This is to all the faithful drivers from New Senoia Raceway, I want to THANK all who have taken the time to purchase a DVD of a race this Season.

It means so much to me that I just thought that I would let you know how much I care for everyone of you drivers.

Many thanks to every driver that took the time to pick up their requested DVD, I take all my time writing about you drivers, and also take the time to make the DVD's that will last you for years and years.

You are some of the most special folks I know, from Jeff Carter and his Family, to Rucker Orr, and Bobby Slauson, to Dusty Jones, and Stephen Hill, then there are the ones that I know want a DVD when they race great, like Late Model winner Scott Duffy, Shane Fulcher, to Mr.Humble Mark Knight. I would never forget Hobby Champion Scott Sherrer, who is wild ride, Then there are those that order DVD's and never take the time to pick them up, to these drivers I still am wishing you well, but it sure would make me happy if you picked up a DVD more so if you asked me to make it for you. My time is valuable also, so please drivers that have not picked up their DVD's please make sure you do.

Some of your DVD's are still waiting on you, like Vernon Nix #19, and Evan Lancaster #9, I hope they will pick up their DVD as soon as possible.

Again Many Thanks for all your time, and thanks for being yourself, and next time your on the track I hope the checkered flag falls your way.

Again, Thanks

New Senoia raceway July 24th action results

“GEORGIA HAS SOME “BRIGHT” NIGHTS AND SOME “SCOTT” FILLED ACTION ON A FULL MOON NIGHT AT SENOIA RACEWAY”

Photo by Tino Patti of Hobby Champion Scott Sherrer

What a night at New Senoia Raceway, first off Saturday night was “HOT” second there was almost a Full Moon, third the racing in every class was more than crazy. From the Modified Mini race to the end of the Enduro races, action was everywhere on the track.

The Modified Mini race was a feature I had long been waiting for all because of a driver I had not seen race since West Georgia Speedway was open.
He was #16 of Huie Stewart, who drives like Tony Stewart, with the same crazy ability. I know one thing, when he was leading almost every lap of the race, I never in my mind realized it was old Huie Stewart, not in a million years, but when he took the checkered flag and climbed out of his #16 Modified mini car for his interview, I was overjoyed in seeing my old friend. You have to realize that I have seen Huie win some big races and when he is racing, it is on, not even #07 of Frank Long could catch Huie, and that is something Frank does best is win. But the Modified Mini feature was won by #16 Huie Stewart, and he never looked back.
So the order of finish was #16 of Huie Stewart, and in 2nd place was #07 Frank Long with a strong 3rd place finish by #8 John Caldwell.

Then the night was ready for the “Show” the Hobby car feature with a giant of a gentleman back, a pure out winning driver at Senoia, Mr. Scott Sherrer who was back in his #41 hobby car and ready to run. Scott had a bounty on him and no one had beaten him, but it was lifted when he failed to make the show at Senoia raceway, seems he wanted to race at another track, he did and in that race he rolled his car, tearing all the hard work he had put in it up. That only meant Scott was out of racing for a while, but the fire for winning had not left his heart.
As a writer, I see so many drivers, and I speak to so many drivers, it is incredible, I know them from other tracks where maybe I filmed their races way back when, and sometimes I know some of these drivers right off the bat, but at Senoia on Saturday night, I was standing like I always do at the ticket booth where drivers pay to enter the track, and this giant of a man was standing there next to me. I had no idea who it was until he spoke and I looked at him twice and said “Your Scott Sherrer”, what a joy, he said he spoke to me a week before while I was walking and talking to folks in the grandstands, and he said I just blew him off. You have to remember when I walk around prior to a race or in between races I meet so many people and people are always saying hello to me, and some I remember and some I don’t remember I guess that is what happens when you reach the age of 60 like I have turned
.
To give you a real moment it was like the week before when I was standing where drivers pay, and all of a sudden I seen this tall young man, with a wife and 2 children, I looked at him 3 times before I realized he was the young super star that would drive wide open at 7 Flags Speedway in Douglasville, he was Little Joe Armstead, it’s like this there are some drivers that just stand out, Little Joe is that special driver.
Other drivers that stand out are Pure Mini Driver #16 Steven Hill
. He is tall and stands high above everyone else. Another driver that seems to have no trouble standing out is #3 Jeff Carter, and his Carter family, always a kind word and always funny, except when he is on the track then he is all business. Some driver you just know like the hobby car driver #M4 of Winford Minix, who drives a purple car that you can’t miss. Winford is a great driver and he is so funny. People need to get to know drivers more. They are some of the best folks around no matter what class.

Top drivers like Rucker Orr, Scott Duffy, Jason Williams, are just a few drivers that are in the class that once you meet them you can never forget them.

Getting back to the Hobby feature, it was another race with so many wrecks it was hard to keep up with. Drivers like #57 Lee Ownbey and #1J Mike Jenkins would have their own battle royal. While their battle was raging, #B3 of last weekends winner Clifton Moran was showing he had the car to beat even with #41 Scott Sherrer and #M4 of Winford Minix charging after him. The finish was dramatic finish would again be #41 Scott Sherrer, with #M4 of Winford Minix in 2nd and finishing in 3rd place was #A1 of Andy Spradlin.

So with the Hobby feature over it was time for the B-Cadet cars to roll on the track, and these are some big boy drivers, “GONE WILD”.
Drivers like #3 Jeff Carter, #B7 of Billy Bright Jr. plus his brother #777 Tim Bright Jr. also racing was #28 of Robert Chandler, #31 of Lee Fuller, and #01 of Blant Duke. Also racing was #26 of Justin Williams, #11 of T.J.Joiner, with #20 Lee Capps plus outstanding drivers like #31 Blake Griffin. Missing from the racing action was #25 of young gun Bobby Slauson, who had some issues with getting his car ready for racing action, but don’t worry he will be back Saturday night in the B-Cadet feature race.

Some of the drivers get along and some don’t see eye to eye in any way.
One class act was shown by #25 Bobby Slauson and his entire crew for helping a driver that did not have a tire, who also did not have power tools to change the tire with, that driver was #11 T.J.Joiner who was helped in more ways than one by Slauson and his crew, who gave him a tire and guess what T.J. finished in 2nd place behind winning driver #B7 of Billy Bright Jr. So if you want to give a award I would give the good driving award to the entire Slauson crew for helping T.J.Joiner get his car back on the track and help him finish in 2nd place.

When the B-Cadet smoke had cleared it was time for the fast Late Model Crate Race featuring some super fast cars, like #13 Roger Cassell, #55 Parrish Duncan, #27 Doug Ludwig, #88 Russ Ogeltree, plus drivers like #K7 of Kenny Gaither and #21 of Johnny Stinchcomb.

When the race started Roger Cassell was on the pole, but as soon as the green dropped, he was hit by #K7 of Kenny Gaither who rammed him and sent Roger and his yellow car into the inside wall, where sparks went flying. Roger was helped from his car, and he looked dazed but I am sure he will be back sooner or later.

Winning the race was #88 Russ Ogeltree who blew everyone away. He had the right set up and his car knew every rut in the track at Senoia. He made sure no one even gained on him. So Winning easy was #88 Russ Ogeltree and coming in 2nd was #55 Parrish Duncan and in 3rd place would finish #27 Doug Ludwig.

After the fast Crate race was over, bring on the Pure Mini class cars, and drivers like #16 Steven Hill, plus #D7 of Durrough Bright, with #39 Bobby Arnold, also in the mix were drivers like, #54 of Norman Chambers plus the driver to beat #19 Vernon Nix who held the lead for a while. But he was put into the wall, and that ended his night, also racing were top drivers like #17 Tim Collier, and #18 Joe Russell.

The race was filled with passing and action, driver #16 Steven Hill looked like he had the car to beat, but #D7 of Durrough Bright would take the lead and never look back.

Would you believe it was a BRIGHT night again, as #D7 Durrough would take home the Pure Mini race win, and in 2nd place was #16 of Young Steven Hill one of the top guns in this class, and finishing in 3rd place was #39 of Bobby Arnold.

Now everyone was on their feet as the Late Models were ready to race and on the pole was young and talented #25 Scott Duffy who was racing against #9 Shane Fulcher, one of the elite racers in this class. Also racing was Scott’s good friend #73 of Jason Williams, and if that was not enough you had #99 of Rucker Orr still looking for his first win at Senoia Raceway. #89 young Carey Smith was racing as well as #90 Michael Keener, both these drivers finished in last place.

When the race was over after a wild 25 laps it was car #25 of Scott Duffy winning his first race in a long time, and he won it blowing everyone away, coming in 2nd place was #9 Shane Fulcher, and in 3rd place was #73 of Jason Williams with #99 Rucker Orr coming in 4th place. Orr still does not have the car he had when he would win night after night at West Georgia Speedway.
Will he have the right car next Saturday night? That could be the 64 thousand dollar question.
The last race of the night was the Enduro feature, and it featured some top drivers like #4 Michael Nelms, #21 Steve Davis, #23 of Greg Butler, plus #55 of Randy Johnson also racing was #43 of Renee Nelms, this would be the last race of the night at Senoia but it was always hard charging.
The winner would be #4 Michael Nelms with #23 Greg Butler coming in 2nd and believe it or not coming in 3rd place was #43 of Renee Nelms.

This weekend this class will be running for $500 cash in a 25 lap race, so the best of the best will be showing back at Senoia including #99 Mike Ray who is getting his car ready.

Hope you will be at Senoia Raceway this Weekend for some of the best racing action in the South.

Leave the cooking to Mark Mills and his incredible staff, who can turn out the best food at any race track.

Thank also to Jack and Mark Mills, not to mention Tim and Tony Moses.

Many thanks to all the officials, who make the calls at the track.

Remember all action of the races are caught on DVD by myself and for $25.00 you can have a copy of all the feature races of the night at Senoia Raceway.
Call anytime at 770-361-3019 and ask for Tino.

Many Thanks,

Tino Patti

West Georgia Speedway COMES BACK TO LIFE

The Boss, Resting after a HOT Friday workday!

“ARE YOU READY TO GET BACK TO RACING AT THE BURG”

THAT’S RIGHT FOLKS WEST GEORGIA SPEEDWAY IS BACK TO RACING, AND UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT, PHILIP SWOFFORD, IS THE NEW BOSS IN TOWN.

HOW DOES THAT SOUND, PLUS SOME OF THE BEST DRIVERS IN THE SOUTH WILL TRY AND TAME “THE BURG” AS IT IS CALLED. EVERYONE KNOWS THAT WEST GEORGIA WAS A CLASS RACE TRACK BEFORE IT CLOSED WELL NOW IT IS BETTER AND FASTER, SO BE READY TO WIN SOME BIG MONEY, WE CAN’T WAIT FOR THE FANS TO PILE IN ON FRIDAY NIGHTS.

DRIVERS WHO LIKED RACING AT WEST GEORGIA SPEEDWAY BEFORE WILL GET SOME NEW THRILLS AS THE TRACK HAS BEEN CLEANED AND IMPROVED ON THE BANKING, EVERYTHING IS CLEAN AND THAT’S WHAT FAMILY AND FRIENDS WANT TO SEE.

DRIVERS LIKE WINFORD MINIX IN HIS PURPLE #M4 CAR WILL SURELY BE THERE.
THEN LATE MODEL DRIVERS LIKE #99 RUCKER ORR WILL MAKE HIS PRESENCE KNOWN, AND MAYBE WIN A FEW RACES. HE SEEMED TO OWN WEST GEORGIA SPEEDWAY BEFORE, BUT HE HAS NOT WON THE BIG RACE AT SENOIA RACEWAY THIS ENTIRE YEAR.

I LOOK FORWARD TO LOTS OF PURE MINI CARS TO SHOW THEIR SUPPORT, AND MAKE WEST GEORGIA SPEEDWAY THE PLACE TO RACE ON FRIDAY NIGHTS. REMEMBER THERE WILL BE TOP OF THE LINE RACING AT THE NEW SENOIA RACEWAY ON SATURDAY NIGHTS, SO A DRIVER CAN WIN AT WEST GEORGIA SPEEDWAY FRIDAY NIGHT AND WIN AT SENOIA RACEWAY ON SATURDAY AND HAVE A GREAT SUNDAY COUNTING HIS MONEY.

WILD NIGHT AT SENOIA RACEWAY ON JULY 17TH, 2010

What a night it was at New Senoia Raceway on a HOT Saturday night. The racing action was far from simple it was a close race in every class.

The night started out wild as usual with the Modified Mini cars, and a new total of 10 cars, this class has been one of the slowest classes, and poor car turnout has almost eliminated them.

Driving in what looked like the car to beat was South Georgia racing hero #66 Scott Burgess, who was looking like he owned Senoia raceway. Even with #07 Frank Long there he was still showing that he had the car to beat. Long would get caught up in a backstretch spin, that nearly took him out of the feature. He got hooked up with #B14 of Bubba Collins, not even #9 Evan Lancaster could catch Burgess, but late in the race #8 of John Caldwell spun and got stuck in the mud, thus for bringing out another caution. That is what helped Frank Long as his #07 car would pass #66 and Long was on his way to another easy win at Senoia Raceway.

So when Chad Harrington through the checkered flag, it was giving #07 Frank Long his 5th win at the New Senoia Raceway.

The orders of finish of the Modified Mini cars were:

Winner Frank Long in his #07 car

In 2nd place would finish #66 Scott Burgess and in 3rd place was #8 John Caldwell

Then it was time for the Hobby car feature and all eyes were on last week’s winner #M4 of Winford Minix who can and will drive the wheels off his car for a win.
But tonight would be a special night for the #B3 car driven by Clifton Moran, who has been around racing for a long time. Also in the race was #91 Lee Owensby, also was the #1J of driver Mike Jenkins who again would put on his own show. The race was called due to time on lap 16, and taking his first Senoia Raceway flag was #B3 of Clifton Moran, coming in 2nd was #M4 of Winford Minix.
#91 Lee Owensby would come in 3rd in his hard charging car.

The race that all the fans were waiting for was the “Bounty Hunt” a race that had $100 added to the winnings if they could beat #3 Jeff Carter legally.

Drivers came from everywhere including #17M of Mark Knight and also #31 of Blake Griffin then there was #28 of Robert Chandler not to forget #31 of Lee Fuller whose car looks almost like #25 of Bobby Slauson. Rounding out the field of cars were #01 of Blant Duke and #B7 of Billy Bright Jr. plus #26 of Justin Williams and #7 Chris Justus.

The field was also packed with Bright’s, #T7 Tim Bright Jr. #777 Tim Bright Sr., plus #11 of T.J. Joiner and of course #GT47 of Phillip Thomas.

Then the man with the bounty on his head, #3 Jeff Carter.

Carter started in 11th place in the back and that is a hard place to run from but he drew the number that put him there.

When the B-Cadet race was on, and after several attempts to race with wrecks happening everywhere, someone had the clock ticking and the race was shortened to just 15 laps.

So when the checkered flag was flying in the air it was over #GT47 of driver Phillip Thomas, who would dedicate this win to his son who had just turned 7 years old.
Coming in 2nd was #31 of Blake Griffin
And in 3rd place was #31 again this time of Lee Fuller.
Jeff Carter would go on and finish the race in 4th place somewhere he was not looking to finish at.

Then it was time for the Pure Mini Stock cars to run and there were 17 cars that entered the race so they would run a 6 lap heat race to see the starting order. In the heat race one, Vernon Nix in his #19 was proving he had the car that would have to be beaten.
In Heat 2, Matthew Black brought his #00 car to the front and that would mean he would start side by side with #19 of Vernon Nix in the feature.

Then in the feature, all the power that Nix had in the heat race seemed to disappear and he was battling with Dusty Jones in Car #4, while Matthew Black was letting his #00 car do the walking around Senoia raceway.

Nix had the car to beat in the Heat race, but in the feature he had lost something, but never fear Vernon Nix will return and give Matthew Black and Dusty Jones some more racing action highlights.

Winning the feature was #00 of Matthew Black coming in 2nd place was #19 of Vernon Nix and in 3rd place was #13 Gary Parker.

Now the crowd was on their feet, as a Toyota of Newnan pace truck led the Crate Late Model race around the track, this was for $2000 Cash and it was also a 40 lap race, not the easiest races to win.
This is when the big boys come in, because the money is good and they know they have the car.

The big name driver was #77 of Matthew “Iron Man” Turner, also in the race was #38 of Chip Brindle, if that was not enough power add #117 of Tom Maddox and you had some sure raw power drivers.

Who I would have never have dreamed was driving was #114 of Wren Goodman the promoter of Little River Speedway in Alabama. Then you had the old favorites like #91 of Tod Darda, #55 of Parish Duncan, #6 of Chad Marchman, #18 of 14 year old Matt Dooley, #16 of Trey White, and #25 of Dustin Hendrix add a few more and you had a wild crazy fast Crate race and $2k to win was BIG.

On the pole was #77 of Matthew Turner, and he would drive like the pro he is, he would lead almost every lap, and Chip Brindle was in his wake but did not seem to be able to catch Turner. Running in 3rd place was #117 of Tom Maddox, and everyone else was chasing these guys.
It was a rather clear cut race, not many wrecks and that was good because the time was getting closer to the Midnight hour that is the Tracks close down time.

Winning the $2000 and the 40 lap race was the “Iron Man” Matthew Turner, coming in a close second was #38 Chip Brindle, and making it to 3rd place was #117 of Tom Maddox.

After the 40 lap Crate race was over it was time for those Topless Late Models to run, and there was no shortage of drivers, in this 25 lap race which also would be cut down due to time.

Drivers like #18c of Shane Criswell, and #99 of Rucker Orr were there to put on a show, and who could leave out #73 of Jason Williams. Then there were the old faithful drivers, like #27 of Glenn Morris, #25 of Scott Duffy, #24 of Ricky Payton, #21 of Charlie Garret and #22M of Mark Sims.

When the race went green, Shane Criswell was showing his #18c car as the leader and everyone was chasing Criswell down, including #73 of Jason Williams and #99 of Rucker Orr, and running in 3rd place was #22M of Mark Sims who would after the race be disqualified for having aluminum heads.

So the Late Model order of finish was again Shane Criswell in his #18c winning.
In 2nd place was #73 of Jason Williams
And in 3rd place would be #99 of Rucker Orr.

A Curfew shortened the Enduro race to 10 laps, and winning the race was #21 Kevin Horton coming in 2nd was #23 Greg Butler and in 3rd place #4 Michael Nelms.

TICK TOCK TICK TOCK, THE TIME HAD RUN OUT AND THE LIGHTS WERE GOING OFF AS THE TRACK MADE THE DEADLINE AT ALMOST 11:55 PM.

WILL SENOIA HAVE ANOTHER RAIN OUT

FANS FROM JULY 3, 2010 RACING PACKED SENOIA
RACEWAY FOR THE SUPER BIG NIGHT.

What can you say, when you are hoping for racing action and the weather is calling for rain, why rain and why on Saturday and why at Senoia Raceway?.

Come on fans get real, lets try and deal with this crazy weather and maybe we can ward this weather away from the track if we think positive and believe it will not rain.

Sure you are saying, I am crazy well maybe I am but then again I am a race fan, I am a writer that needs to feel the need for SPEED and I get it filming at the New Senoia Raceway.

DON'T YOU!

This weekend New Senoia Raceway is having a $2000 CASH Win for the winner of the Crate Late Model race, and I know we should see some of the best in the business at racing, $2000 is a nice paycheck for winning one race.

Well then you have the $100 Bounty on a legendary B-Cadet driver in Jeff Carter in his #3 car, where last week he came from the back of the field to take the checkered flag, what a race and what a finish.

Sometimes YOU never know who you will run into at a DIRT TRACK here is the Legend himself Mr.MIKE HEAD, or better known as "THE HEADMAN". What a thrill, he is a driver you want to see on the track and not off the track.

Also Fans get ready to eat some of the South's best food at Senoia raceway, where food is #1 and then racing action.

Mark Mills make sure that everything that they have cooked is top of the line, and he has a staff that is the best.

Let me tell you about some of the finest folks around, and they are the unseen heroes of Senoia Raceway, let me give you a name and you won't know who he is but I do and that is all that matters, his name is John and he drives a "Mule 4 wheel get r done" and He is top of the line, his wife also works in the concession stands and he give her a ride to the stands and back, he is one of the hardest workers and you know he takes pride in his job, and this is his first year working at a racetrack but you would never know it by his huge smile. Thanks John for getting me in and out of the Pits with ease and comfort. It makes my job easier when I can come face to face with drivers and let them know who I am and where I am filming from, and letting them know that I am there for all 7 races.

News from the Legend, AT THE TOP OF THE VOTING POLL WAS : Michael Nelms in his #4 enduro car and his DAUGHTER Shebie Nelms in her baby blue #43 enduro car, she is just 16 years of age but is showing some real talent in racing, and all I can say is next time she takes to the track in a feature, those other boys will race her just as hard as they would anyone else, there is no place on a racetrack for fearing another driver, so lets see what happens in this upcoming enduro feature which is the last race of the night, so fans I would not leave until the checkered flag has flown.

Well lets all get around the TV or radio and really listen to the weather forecast and maybe Tim and Tony Moses plus the great Jack Mills will see some exciting racing at New Senoia Raceway this weekend.

I would like to THANK all the drivers that BOUGHT DVDs of the races from myself, I thank you and look forward to serving you, remember you are the real reason I am there, I try and catch all the exciting racing and wrecks on DVD.

THANKS AGAIN and REMEMBER ALL DVD'S ARE JUST $25.00 and if you think that is TOO HIGH, remember that when racing season is over and the cold winter days are upon us hey you can always POP in a DVD of a race at Senoia Raceway and relive some great racing action. That can and will take your mind off of those dark winter days and cold nights.

So help promote DVD's and lets work together PLEASE.

Thanks to all my Friends, New Drivers and Old Classic drivers who I have know for years,

GOD BLESS YOU ALL !!

Thanks Again,

Tino Patti

RAIN OUT at Senoia!

THE REAL WINNER, THE RAIN!

“GREAT DRIVER’S SHOW UP AT SENOIA, BUT SO DOES THE RAIN”

For video of Racing Action at New Senoia Raceway contact:

DRIVER’S LIKE #55 MONTANA DUDLEY, WHO IS HE? HE HAILS OUT OF ALABAMA, AND THE STORY GOES HE CAN DRIVE AND MAYBE OUT DRIVE ALL OF THE GEORGIA LATE MODEL DRIVER’S.

ALSO THE #21C OF A YOUNG MAN THAT’S LIFE IS GOING FOR HIM LIKE NO OTHER DRIVER I HAVE GOT TO KNOW, HE IS FAST AND FAST IS WHAT GETS YOU TOO THE TOP OF YOUR LINE NO MATTER WHAT TYPE OF JOB YOU HAVE.

OWNER OF HIS OWN GRAPHIC’S BUSINESS, AND A MAN THAT HAS NOTHING BUT A BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD OF HIM, HE IS KENNY “QUICK” COLLINS, WHO I ENJOY WATCHING RACE.

COLLIN’S IS KIND, AND SEEMS TO HAVE A HUGE HEART, IN THESE TIMES AND DAY’S THIS IS SOMETHING THAT IS HARD TO FIND.

COLLIN’S RANK’S UP NEAR THE TOP OF CLASS DRIVER’S THAT I KNOW ARE ON THE MOVE UPWARD. WATCH HIM, AS HE GROWS, YOU CAN SAY YOU WATCHED HIM WHEN HE WAS RUNNING AT SENOIA RACEWAY BACK IN 2010.

ALSO, AT SENOIA CAME ROLLING IN THE BIGGEST OF RIGS, WHEN BRIAN REESE #33 ROLLED IN, BRINGING MOST OF EVERYONE IN HIS COUNTY, FRIENDS FROM EVERYWHERE. I MEAN BRIAN REESE HAD HIS OWN RACETRACK CHEERING CROWD.

THE WORST PART ABOUT IT WE NEVER GOT THE CHANCE TO SEE HIM ON THE TRACK, ALL BECAUSE OF THE HEAVY, AND I MEAN HEAVY DOWNPOUR THAT LEFT THE FANS UPSET BECAUSE SOME THOUGHT THE RAIN WOULD MOVE ON, AND THEY COULD GET THE TRACK READY TO RUN WHEN THE RAIN MOVED AWAY, IT WAS ALREADY AFTER 8 P.M. WHEN THE RACE WAS CALLED AND RAIN CHECKS WERE HANDED OUT.
COME ON, GET REAL, BY THE TIME THE RAIN WOULD HAVE PASSED OVER THERE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN TIME TO GET THE TRACK READY FOR THESE FINE SUPER STAR DRIVERS TO RACE ON.

ONE DRIVER I WAS REALLY EXCITED TO SEE WAS “LITTLE JOE ARMSTEAD” WHO IS GETTING HIS FAMOUS #21 CAR READY TO RUN WITH THE BIG BOYS AGAIN AFTER A SHORT LEAVE. ARMSTEAD WOULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING RICKY PATYON’S CAR, IN THE LATE MODEL RACE, WHAT A RACE THAT WOULD HAVE BECOME.

ALSO THERE WAS RUCKER ORR, WITH HIS #99 CAR WHO HAS BEEN IN THE MIX, BUT NOW HE IS BACK BECAUSE HE HAS GONE BACK TO THE BASICS, TURNING HIS CAR BACK TO THE WAY HE HAD IT SET UP WHEN HE WAS RUNNING AT THE NOW CLOSED WEST GEORGIA SPEEDWAY. ORR WAS A CONSTANT WINNER THERE, MORE THAN ONCE HE WAS AT THE FRONT OF THE FIELD WHEN THE CHECKERED FLAG WAVED OVER THE SPORTSMAN RACE.

WE ARE ALL LOOKING FOR RUCKER TO MAKE A COMPLETE 360 DEGREE TURN AROUND. ONE THING IS FOR SURE ORR IS READY FOR HIS FIRST WIN, AT THE NEW SENOIA RACEWAY.

#9 SHANE FULCHER, WAS BACK, A TRUE RACING STAR, WITH PLENTY OF TALENT AND TALENT THAT YOU SEE EVERY TIME HE WINS, AND FULCHER WINS THE BIG RACES, HE IS KNOWN FOR WINNING THE BIG RACES, THE MONEY RACES.

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT, PLENTY OF CRATE CARS, PLEANTY OF LIMITED LATE MODELS, AND THEN YOU HAVE THOSE AMAZING HOBBY CAR DRIVER’S, LIKE LAST WEEKS WINNER #M4 WINFORD MINIX, WHO WAS BEING CHANCED DOWN BY #12 GARY BRAND, AND SINCE SCOTT SHERRER #41 IS NOT BACK YET, THE HOBBY RACE IS LIKE A GREAT BIG PIE AND EVERYONE ONCE A PIECE OF THE PIE.

ALSO THOSE PURE MINI CARS WERE THERE, DRIVER’S LIKE #00 MATTHEW BLACK, WHO IS A REALLY CLASS DRIVER. WHEN ASKED WHAT I SHOULD CALL HIM FOR A NICK NAME, HE DIDN’T HAVE ONE, SO HIS FRIEND HELPING HIM SPEAK UP AND SAID CALL HIM “HAM”, SO MATTHEW BLACK WE ARE NOT CALLING YOU "HAM", BUT WE ARE CALLING YOU "FAST".
ALSO BACK WAS DUSTY JONES AND HIS #4 CAR, JONES IS A DRIVER THAT KNOWS HOW TO WIN RACES, SO WHEN WATCHING THE PURE MINI FEATURES EVERYONE SHOULD KEEP THEIR EYE’S ON DUSTY JONES.

OTHER DRIVER’S IN THIS CLASS THAT IS GROWING ARE DRIVER’S LIKE #7 RUSSELL BRIGHT, WHO IS ALWAYS THERE WHEN THE RACE IS OVER. HE IS ALWAYS IN THE MIX, DRIVERS LIKE #J17 JOEY SPENCER AND #5 ROCKY JOHNSON ARE ALWAYS RACING HARD AND THEY ARE THE TYPE OF DRIVERS THAT NEVER GIVE UP.

NOW A DRIVER THAT WAS LATE ARRIVING WAS #19 VERNON NIX. WHO I WAS HOPING TO SEE HIM RACE, BECAUSE HE HAS HIS CAR HOOKED UP AND IS READY TO CHALLENGE ALL THE PURE MINI FEATURE DRIVERS TO A TEST.

EVERYONE HAS TO REMEMBER ALSO THAT B-CADET RACE, THE BOUNTY HUNT RACE, AGAINST 3 TIME WINNER, #3 JEFF CARTER, WHO HAS THE BOUNTY ON HIS HEAD.

$$ BOUNTY BONUS $$
After 3 feature wins in a row, there is a $100 Bounty Bonus in the B- Cadet division this weekend on Jeff Carter #3. The victory must be from outperforming him and not by taking him out intentional or otherwise.
Rule Change in B- Cadet:
MSD Distributor and Ignition Box Allowed.

LIFE SEEMS OK WITH JEFF, BUT HIS WIFE LISA “55 OUNCE COKE” CARTER IS HAVING THE PROBLEMS DEALING WITH THIS, AND I KNOW SHE IS BITTING HER NAILS EVERY TIME HE TAKES A TURN IN HIS #3 B-CADET CAR.

CARTER IS A DRIVER THAT SHOWS NO FEAR, AND THAT IS THE WAY TO HANDLE THIS BOUNTY. EVERYONE NEEDS TO REALIZE THAT A BOUNTY ON A DRIVER IS WHAT YOU CALL THE NUMBER ONE WAY TO PRAISE A DRIVER.

ALSO YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER JEFF CARTER IS A CLASS ACT, AND AS LONG AS HE HAS RACED, HE HAS SHOWN SO MUCH IMPROVEMENT, AND YOU KNOW WHAT, HE DRIVES LIKE THE TRUE WINNER HE IS.

SO ALL I AM SAYING IS EVERYONE BETTER BE LEGAL WHEN THE B-CADET RACE IS OVER, OR YOU WILL BE MISSING SOME MONEY AND I AM SURE JEFF CARTER AND FAMILY WILL ENJOY SPENDING THE CASH THEY TAKE OUT OF YOUR HAND IF YOU ARE ILLEGAL.

BE READY THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST B-CADET RACE OF THE SEASON.

THE ENDURO RACE, LOOKS LIKE WE WILL BE SEEING MORE OF THE #43 BLUE CAR, DRIVEN BY MICHAEL NELMS DAUGHTER OR IT COULD BE MICHAELS MOTHER, WHO KNOWS, ALL I KNOW IS YOU HAVE ONE CLASS OF CARS THAT WILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH A FEMALE DRIVER, AND THIS WEEKEND I DON’T BELIEVE YOU WILL SEE DRIVERS LIKE LEE OWNSBEY SPINING AND AVOID HITTING THE NELMS CAR, IF SHE HAS TO BE MOVED SOMEONE WILL MOVE HER, THIS IS RACING AND NOT A PARADE, AND NO DRIVER GETS A SPECIAL TREAT. SO LOOK OUT FOR AN ALL OUT ENDURO WAR, MAYBE EVEN MIKE RAY IN HIS FAMOUS #99 WILL RETURN AFTER CRASHING INTO EVERYONE ON JULY 3RD, 2010.

Did anyone listen to 96.7 FM the Legend this Wednesday night and hear who was voted into #1 on face book results. It was none other than #4 Michael Nelms and his Daughter Shelbi Nelms who came in 1st and 2nd in the Enduro race. It was the first time I have ever filmed a Father, Daughter one two combination finish. Shelbi is just 16, but she can drive with the best, well maybe, I think next time she takes the track, the other drivers will not see her as a “GIRL” behind the wheel, I believe if she is in the way she will be moved. It is all part of racing, and this is short track racing at its best.

Fireworks, Demo Derby and racing!

"HE'S BACK, THE UNKNOWN BOUNTY COLLECTOR"

"HE IS ON THE HUNT AGAIN, FOR SOMEONE THAT THINKS HE IS A TOP CLASS DRIVER, THE HUNTER IS JUST WAITING FOR A CHANCE TO COLLECT SOME EXTRA CASH, MAKE HIS DAY"

Fun in the Clay on July 3rd at Senoia Raceway

“FOOD, FUN, AND RACING ACTION AT IT’S BEST PLUS A DEMO-DERBY,

AND FIREWORKS WHAT MORE COULD A RACE FAN ASK FOR?”

THE BOUNTY IS SET, NOW CAN JEFF CARTER PROVE HE IS THE BEST IN THE B-CADET FEATURE RACES!

3 WINS IN A ROW, NOT SINCE SCOTT SHERRER IN HIS HOBBY CAR #41 MADE WINNING AT SENOIA RACEWAY LOOK EASY, NOW IN B-CADET WE HAVE A NEW CHAMPION, SOMEONE THE KIDS GO WILD WATCHING RACE, EACH KNOWING THAT IF HE WINS THEY TOO COULD HAVE THE CHANCE OF BEING HANDED A SMALL TOY CAR FROM A BIG HEARTED MAN, A DRIVER THAT CARES ABOUT THE SMALL FOLKS IN LIFE, JEFF CARTER NEVER FORGETS HOW AND WHO GOT HIM TO THE TOP OF HIS RACING CARREER.

Don’t worry the “BIG GUNS” in racing will invade the New Senoia Raceway and try and take the money out of Jeff’s hands, BUT DRIVERS BEWARE, You better be legal, because he will tear his car down, and you just better have some legal stuff under your hood or you will be paying Jeff extra.

He is LEGAL, so you better be also, that’s all we have to say on that.

New Senoia Raceway’s official statement reads and please read it careful.
$$ BOUNTY BONUS $$
After 3 feature wins in a row, there is a $100 Bounty Bonus in the B- Cadet division this weekend on Jeff Carter #3. The victory must be from outperforming him and not by taking him out intentional or otherwise.

I want you to know that July 3rd went off just like planed, lots of super fast racing action, plenty of exciting racing in B-Cadet and also in the Crate and Limited Late Model races. Plus the crowd was overwhelming, as they came from everywhere. Jack Mills and the rest of the crew, Tim and Tony Moses promised a great show and that’s what the fans were treated to.

Lots of people thought there would be not be enough of those demolition derby cars, which fwd cars and the seven were showed up to make sure he was the last car with his wheels spinning.

Plus that after the demolition derby was over the lights went out over the track and peering into the dark sky everyone was amazed at the great firework show that the track included.

Yes it was a Holiday that we can all remember because of the huge crowd, the turnout was amazing, the food was superb, and the driver’s that were there were in their on element.

Each driver was focused on driving his or her car as the case maybe to the winners circle. Some were ready to when and some were just hoping to make it around the 3/8th oval at the New Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia.

Winning the Modified Mini race was car #27 Talmadge Simpson, who has been trying for a long time, to beat drivers like #07 Frank Long or #9 Evan or Erik Hogsed when they were racing. Since they were not on hand it looked like easy riding for Simpson, who grabbed what I believe his first win in Modified Mini racing action.

The Hobby race the most watched race since Scott Sherrer made it a real war, was now focused on new cars and new drivers to take up the slack.

Six laps into the race, “The Purple People eater” #M4 of Winford Minix would show how a real champion drives. Minix has been a winner in so many races that when he gets a new sticker it ends up in a drawer, he does not have time to stick it on his purple car, but for some reason I hope and believe Minix is placing this one on his car, because it was the first time he had conquered the New Senoia Raceway for the first time.

Minix would be chased down by #12 of Gary Brand, who would make sure Winford did not get that big lead, but for some reason Winford was hitting on all cylinders.

He would go on and win his first race at New Senoia Raceway, get the huge interview, and hand some lucky young child a small token of a car, which I am sure the child will never forget.

The B-Cadet race was wild and getting wilder, as cars are attacking the 3/8ths oval race track, the most prominent of all drivers has been the #3 of Jeff Carter, who had managed to win 3 races in a row and that is where the bounty comes in, when you are a winner someone will be there to shoot you down, so Carter better be on his “A” Game this coming Saturday night at New Senoia Raceway.

We always hear rumors that Rusty Johnson in his #29 will bring his car out of retirement just to collect the bounty money and beat Carter.

We have also heard rumors that #69 Roscoe Collins could make a come back as soon as the cash grows up and it would be some easy pick en.

I have know idea when Bobby Slauson will ever make a return in his #25 B-Cadet car, Slauson has missed some important races and he was the up and coming driver that we were hoping to see climb the ladder of success.

All I do know is that Jeff Carter, better be ready because everyone will be shooting for him, and they all will be wanting that EXTRA CASH, and they all want to take it from the BIG MAN.

So fans, if you like watching some really exciting racing then the B-Cadet race will be the race to watch.

Good Luck Jeff Carter and his entire Crew you will really need it.

Jeff went on to win, but finishing in 2nd place was #11 T.J. Joiner and in 3rd place was #14 David Chapman. The driver that really feels back has to be the driver of the #GT47 Thomas Philips who held the lead over Carter for laps and laps and laps until, he made a mistake that put him in the wall, and on the DVD of the race you can see him pounding the steering wheel in total disgust because Phillips could have won this race and beat Jeff Carter, but that was not to be and Carter would look for just a little slip and he would be gone. Could Jeff have caught Phillips if he had time and Phillips had not hit the wall, that is the 64 thousand dollar question, I will never know what could have happened but I do know that Phillips will be ready this weekend to try and take the cash away from Jeff Carter. Let’s see what happens? What do you think?

Now we can talk about the fast and furious Nesmith Crate race, and let me tell you these boys never let you down.

FAST is not the word when these cars pull onto the track.

Driver’s like #91 Tod Darda,
#27 Doug Ludwig, #16 Josh Noles plus #0 of Craig Scott not to forget Alabama’s own #K9 of Dana Eiland. Also who could leave out a legend #55 Parrish Duncan and young 14 year old driver of #18 Matt Dooley.
Every driver put on a show for the fans, all 25 “Dusty” laps.
But when the dust had settled #91 Tod Darda was the winner and thanked the huge crowd at Senoia Raceway.
Coming in 2nd place was #16 of Josh Noles
, and in 3rd place finished #K9 of Dana Eiland.

After the Crate cars had run, it was time to bring on the feature that is getting wilder each and every weekend.

I am talking about the Pure Mini Stock boy’s, drivers like #4 Dusty Jones, #00 Matthew Black, #5 Rocky Johnson, #13 Gary Parker, #19 Vernon Nix.

This was one of the more amazing races of the night, the driver to beat was #4 of young Dusty Jones who has been winning easy at Senoia raceway. Tonight Jones would be off, so would another driver that has been having luck at that is none other than Matthew Black in his #00 car.

The car that would really show some tricks would be #13 of Gary Parker who I had the chance to meet prior to the race in the infield. He was somewhat short with his answers and really did not look impressed that I was wanting to take a photo of him and his car, to be honest I never met Gary Parker before. I may get another chance of speaking with him maybe this coming Saturday night before the race again.

But when the race began I had my eyes glued to #4 of Dusty Jones who I thought would be the winner of the Pure Mini Stock race for the night, but that was “WRONG”. That is why racing is racing there is always someone that can out drive you on a Saturday night. Sure enough before I had a chance a car came from the back of the pack and was passing other drivers like Dusty Jones, and Matthew Black as well as others, he was Vernon Nix #19 who is a blog a while back got caught up in what I now called “Vernon Nix’s MIX”.
Tonight Nix was on a mission, and his mission was to take the checkered flag and WIN at Senoia Raceway.
He had his car on rails, and was just hoping for Parker in the #13 car to slip up, that would not happen, maybe a yellow caution would come out, forget that JACK, that was not about to happen, so all Vernon Nix could do was try as hard as he could to reel in Parker, but the laps were winding down, and time was running out. To get to the point Vernon Nix would go on to finish in 2nd place behind Gary Parker, and to him it was a great race, he has his car working for him and that’s all a real driver needs in the knowledge that he has the car under him to take him to the lead when he needs to go. So if I was a beating man, I would place all my cash on Vernon Nix for this weekends Pure Mini Stock race, I really believe he has the car and is now ready for the test. So let’s see what Vernon has when he arrives at New Senoia Raceway this Saturday Night and races in the always hard fought Pure Mini Stock battle.

For all fans KEEP YOUR EYE’S ON CAR #19 that will be Vernon Nix and if he has his car right, you may see him take his first Senoia Raceway checkered flag.
“Stay out of the MIX, Nix and WIN ONE”

When the Late Models began pulling onto the track, we knew we were in for a racing show. Rucker Orr was back, and has always been a bridesmaid finishing 2nd almost all the time, something that Orr is not used to doing. He would win at West Georgia Speedway but this is not West Georgia Speedway, and he is not the king.

A true racing giant I happened to meet, at Senoia Raceway prior to the race, was #9 of Shane Fulcher, who brought the car that would lead every lap, he raced in front all night long, never giving up or losing the lead.

He was being chased by a real champion himself in #18c of Shane Criswell, who knows how to win the big races at almost every track.

Also racing in his new car, was #73 Racing Jason Williams, who unlike himself, pulled his car off the track after several laps, it seems his car was not hooked up right. Williams is the type of race driver that would rather pull off the track than mess any other driver’s night up. So after several hard laps Williams pulled his #73 off the track at Senoia.

#27 Glenn Morris would be chasing Criswell who was chasing Fulcher, but the driver that really has had a hard time is the #99 of Rucker Orr. Fans get ready for the new Rucker Orr, as he has taken his car apart and put it back to the basic setup one that Orr is used to winning with. Maybe this weekend Rucker Orr will win his first big race at New Senoia Raceway. Rucker would finish in 4th place and that is somewhere he is not used to finishing there.

The track was dusty, the race was wild, but this coming weekend, everyone is hoping that maybe the track is watered better so when the Late Models and Crates races we will not be in such a huge “DUST STORM”.

The last group of cars to race was the Enduro cars, and again #99 Mike Ray would be on the track making his presence known, but the real drivers that were making it look easy were drivers like #4 Michael Nelms, who was putting on a show.
Car #16 was driven by Lee Ownsby who was driving instead of the regular driver. Owensby is known for his winning driving style.
The real treat for the night was at the end when the Winner #4 Michael Nelms, parked his winning car under the flag stand to get his interview as well as hold the checkered flag, it was then I noticed the car that finished in 2nd place car #43 with a young female driver hop out, her name was Shelbi Nelms, that is right Michaels daughter.

It was a first for me as a Father-Daughter combination would come in first and second, congratulations to Michael Nelms and his daughter Shelbi who proved she can driver with the big guns. We hope to see more of this type of Enduro racing again this weekend, and I hope Shelbi is racing in a car that looks so famous a powder blue car with the old Richard Petty number #43.

Thanks to everyone for the outpouring of FWD Cars ready for the end of the nights racing action in the crowd pleasing Demolition Derby.

The cars were lined up, and when the flagman gave them the green flag, they were off in reverse banging and beating every other car up until that car was in drivable, it was amazing.

Winning it all was none other than David Brewer in the #00 car, and he would take home a nice nights winnings in cash, just for beating and banging a old car.

Then as if a POWER Failure had happened the “Lights went out all over the track”, and before everyone knew it off in the distance in the dark night sky were flying some of the best aerial fireworks in Georgia. It was a taste of the 4th of July a day early and a thank you message from everyone at Senoia Raceway to the loyal race fans that have helped support Senoia Raceway.

You can thank Tim and Tony Moses as well as “BIG” Jack Mills and the man that takes care of the concession stand up top Mr. Mark Mills.

I know on this hot night, they had to be running low on food as the crowd was huge, and like myself I was so hungry also. FOOD is something that is great at Senoia Raceway, FOOD and RACING what more could you ask for, so for the best in both, head on down to Senoia Raceway “The fastest 3/8ths on Dirt”.
