FULL MOON NIGHT AT SENOIA RACEWAY

“SATURDAY NIGHT, WILL BRING OUT THE BEST BECAUSE…?”

Saturday night will be a great night IF, the Green Flag falls, and the rain stays away.

Put it this way I have been looking forward to June 26th 2010 for a long time.

Why, oh because there will be a “FULL MOON” and in racing a “FULL MOON” means lots of racing excitement, more than usual.

If you can not bear to be there, please don’t come because the action will be intense.

I have had the pleasure of filming “FULL MOON” nights at different race tracks here in the South and there is nothing wilder than the action you see when the Moon is full, it almost makes the drivers turn into beasts, and sometimes it can get crazy.

Racing in the Topless Limited Late Model Race will be #99 Rucker Orr, who won the fast driver award last Saturday night, he would have started on the pole but he had his car inverted and was placed in row two instead of starting on the pole, where he could have out driven #18c Shane Criswell, and maybe even #G1 Glenn McWater’s, but that would have been tough.

Criswell has owned Senoia Raceway, it seems anyway, he has the car that seems to be the one to beat, and again he walked away with $2000 cash in the great 40 lap feature race. Coming in 2nd was #99 of Rucker Orr, who was not given the applause he should have received, it was more like “Boo’s from the Senoia Raceway crowd”, and something really Rucker has been used to.
But as he said and this is a quote “That just means the crowd is watching him”, and that is the truth, he does have his #99 car working better and it seems like it will be a matter of time when he gets that track down to where he knows it like a glove, and when that happens he is off to winning races almost every Saturday night.

But Senoia Raceway, is not just a track that brings in a few local drivers, it brings in some of the best late model drivers that can make it there. They come from Alabama, North Georgia, and some as far as Mississippi, and places unknown.

So each race can be different, because you have some of the best drivers in racing, showing up at the new Senoia raceway.

So fans get ready for some exciting late model action Saturday night.

One more note on the Limited Late Model race, a young and talented driver to hit the wall coming out of turn 4 at Senoia Raceway, Kenny “Quick” Collins will be back Saturday night at Senoia, his car will not have all the graphics on it but it will have #21C and that is all you need to know.
Kenny has been profiled by this writer in an earlier blog,
he is just 19 and owns his own business.
So be looking for Kenny “Quick” Collins at Senoia hopefully this weekend.

Also this weekend the Crate Cars will return, with some of the best drivers around, like #16 Tony “The Tiger” Kemp will be back. Also we hope that #18 young 14 year old Matt Dooley will return to race his #18 car.
Tod Darda may return in his #91 car we hope
, he was a little upset after the Late Model race Saturday night. Other great Crate drivers will be #55 Parrish Duncan, who seems to have been racing for years. Josh Noles will try and have his #16 car back after he spun out in lap one of the 40 lap race Saturday night.

All in all we should see some great Crate and Late Model races this weekend with some of the best of the weekend warriors.

The Modified Mini race should feature, Evan Lancaster if he has another car ready, and I am sure he will not be hitting another wall at Senoia during hot laps, you can bet on that.

The Hobby race will be getting some new faces soon, as #K1 Kip Stanfill will be bringing his “Black” new ride to Senoia raceway. He has been one of the top drivers when he was racing and I have no doubt he will be back to the top of his game again. Kip owns Kips Automotive in Douglasville, Georgia where he works all week long. His wife takes the calls and makes sure everyone is taken care of with a friendly smile. She is a major part of Kips Automotive who business is starting to boom.
We all hope the best for Kip, so fans be ready when the black #K1 rolls onto the dirt at Senoia raceway, you will be watching one of the best drivers in Georgia.

We also hope that #41 Scott Sherrer gets his car back together after rolling it at East Alabama Speedway. We all miss Scott, who was that man with the bounty on his head. Hurry back Scott!!

The B-Cadet series will be taking on some new reasons to watch, as Jeff Carter try’s to make it back to back wins, in his still damaged car. His front bumper was messed up after he was being spun by #31 of Lee Fuller, and there is no love being lost between these two hot drivers. Carter in his #3 has been the driver to beat even with #01 car of Blant Duke in the race. Duke has always been known for winning some big races at West Georgia Speedway. At Senoia he has taken only one win, so give him a break. Others in the B-Cadet race that should give Carter and Fuller some heat could be #25 Bobby Slauson, who will be returning Saturday night.

When the Pure Mini Stock races rolls on, we are wondering if #16 Steven “Tall” Hill, will try and win his 2nd feature in a row at Senoia. He captured a win Saturday night, but he was being chased by Dusty Jones in car #4. Also in the chase and is always lurking is #7 of Russell Bright, who is always a force.
Who ever wins, it will be an all out battle.

After the Late Model race, let’s hope we see #99 Mike Ray back in the drivers seat and out of the grandstands. Mike has been a force in the Enduro race, he runs well when he is racing with young #4 Michael Nelms and #16 Austin Horton, who always put on a show for the fans.

If you are coming to Senoia raceway make sure that you don’t stop and eat before the race, make sure you take some time to eat at Senoia Raceway where you will find the best in foods.

Thanks to Mark Mills, and his staff for making such great food, you want to come back for more and more.

Also thanks to Tony and Tim Moses for trying to keep the track in the best of shape.

And a big “THANKS, to Big Jack Mills” who handles the drivers coming into the track. He is the man they have to listen to, and believe it or not they do.

Again Thanks,

Tino Patti
