MONDAY MORING COMING DOWN

What a Weekend of Racing at West Georgia Speedway

Racing at West Georgia Speedway can get very interesting, and things happen that seem incredible.

But fans still come out and watch, because race fans are the best, they come rain or shine, hot or cold, they will be there if there is a race.

This weekend is what West Georgia Speedway calls, “Bring what you GOT”, that means no rules, no tech man, just bring it and drive it and finish off the season in style, West Georgia Style.

“BRING WHAT YOU GOT”, right from Phillip Swafford’s mouth, you can drive in any class, except you can’t move down in class, up ok, down NO.

As far as I am concerned, I want to thank everyone, at West Georgia Speedway, for the last few races I filmed, I have seen some dramatic races, and made some great new friends.

Racing is like a family, and every season, the racing season closes due to cold weather, and holidays coming up. And when the off season is upon as all, drivers and families have the chance to sit back and watch DVD’s of races during the off season and see what they could have done better to win, and how they could improve. Then again, they might see something on the DVD that really makes their minds go nuts, like watching wrecks that should never have happened, and they got involved in it by accident. Oh that hurts, you know, all that work and have someone have a wreck and your car get involved in it. But in February late the season will again go back to practicing for the Opening night in March, and that is when families, friends and race junkies can all come together and hug and shake hands and get ready for another racing season this time in a new year and maybe this could be the year that a driver rules.

Racing has become a part of my life, with friends drivers, and families, I get to know the drivers they get to know me as a person and not just someone who shoots the video of races, as a person. I get a thank you, and that makes the difference.

I have met with some of the best officials, working jobs at tracks from money takers, to concession workers. Then there is Security workers like down at Senoia Raceway who or the best at keeping fans safe and happy.

I have also met those wonderful people that work the inside scoring talking with the drivers on race receivers.

One thing for sure, every race track has rules and you obey them or you can take your car elsewhere. A rule is a rule, break it and you become history.

What I hope and pray for daily is that every driver and his family has a good and happy off season, and remember to be thankful on this upcoming THANKGIVING DAY. Remember all those people that have nothing and try and help someone.

Also, Thanksgiving is happy for some people, who down a huge bird, but what do you think the Turkey thinks about this time of year, this must be their worst nightmare. Knowing that on the 25th of November every year that they are some that will have to be knocked off. Man I am glad I am not a Turkey, even though you may think I am at times.

More folks go into a deep depression during the Christmas holidays than any time in the year, and that is all because most people have no one that they can celebrate with.

Christmas is a time for cheer, but for some it can be a time of total depression, because of the fact that they have not, GOD bless everyone this season.

Most young American folks, have a tendency to buy things that are way beyond their reach, like tech-no gadgets.
They buy with “BIG EYES” and not remembering that with the swipe of that plastic card that one day they have to repay all that brought them happiness. That is when the bills come in and wham! That’s when they are hit with an incredible sinking feeling of how the “Heck” or we suppose to pay all these bills.

So think twice when buying someone some thing special, make sure they really need it, and please enjoy the Christmas holidays.

Thanks to every driver that picked up or had mailed too them a racing DVD that has helped my family get through some very tough months. With my wife being sick it has taken every dollar I make to make sure she is taken care of, and I thank you all for purchasing a DVD of a race whether at Senoia or West Georgia Speedway, thank YOU!!!. Remember I still have copies of races from Senoia and West Georgia that can be yours for the asking just call me at 770-361-3019…..and thanks in advance.
