B-Cadet $1 K to Win at Senoia

“B-CADET RACE FOR $1000 DOLLARS TO WIN at Senoia”

Racing at New Senoia Raceway, again proved that people will come out for a great show, when you have cars that have bounties on them, plus you have great food and lots of action.

The Hobby car feature was one of the main attractions as #41 Scott Sherrer was back to defend his bounty, and as if luck would have it he started on the inside pole, which is good because he could have started last like last week and had to battle and come back for the win, with a real fight.
For Scott it has been a ride of a year, with Senoia Raceway placing the “Bounty” on his head it kind of puts him in a new ballgame. Scott is used to winning but having a bounty on him could be taking a real toil on him.

So when the race started Scott had a $150 bounty on his head to any driver that could beat him legally and that’s what it is going to take.

When the race was over and the “Double Checkered Flags were waiving” over Scott’s car again, that only meant that his bounty increased to $200 to any driver that can beat him legally and not take him out of the race on purpose. So hobby car drivers are coming to Senoia Raceway, to capture the extra $200 that is sitting on Scott Sherrer’s head.

The Official Order of finish of the Hobby car feature was:
Winning #41 Scott Sherrer (Still unbeaten)

2nd place was #M4 of Winford Minix
In 3rd place was #1J of Mike Jenkins
In 4th place was #1 Wayne Chapman

The Modified Mini Stock race was again exciting, and again found the #9 car in the winner’s circle, but this time the driver that got out was its owner Evan “Ricky Bobby” Lancaster.

Who has made some changes to his car, and even added some extra weight, and he still out ran, #27 Talmadge Simpson, and #3 Allen Brewster plus #18 Heath “Skitter” Brewster and finishing last #21 of Chris Carr.

On this night it looked like Allen Brewster was headed to grab his first win of the season at Senoia, but Lancaster and Simpson, seemed to have faster cars. It would prove to be another disappointing night for Allen but it shows that when he comes to race he comes and is never afraid.

So taking the win was #9 of Evan Lancaster, who has become a Senoia Fan favorite.
In 2nd place was #27 of Talmadge Simpson
And in 3rd place was #3 of Allen Brewster
one of top competitors in this racing sport.

The New Senoia Raceway was the place for the B-Cadet drivers to be, because the picking would be good, with a pay-off to the winner of $1000 cash.

Trouble is when that much money is up for grabs, the finest drivers show up to cash in on the race.
Drivers that made the show were “Big” Jeff Carter
, who won last Saturday nights race, blowing everyone away. On this night Jeff would have company in his feature race. Drivers like Rusty Johnson and his famous #29 appeared ready to rumble, also making the show and always as competitive as he has always been was #17M of Mark Knight, who is not afraid of getting it on with the best of drivers. Then there was #31 of Blake Griffin, who has always been a force to reckon with. Griffin has won many races and more so when the stakes were high, like tonight’s 25 lap feature.

Also coming from Whitesburg, Georgia was #01 of Blant Duke, who is a young force that has been racing since he was a kid, racing mainly on his grandfather’s track called West Georgia Speedway. There Blant was a winner, but he always had the fans against him.

Also racing was #T7 of young Tim Bright, racing would not be racing without a Bright member involved in a dirt track classic race. Plus Whitesburg’s own #47 of Jason Causey another winner of many races.

“Racing Jason” Williams father #03 of Buck Williams was there but he was involved in a heavy wreck that would hurt his car, but he would still finish the race in 6th place. You can’t keep a “Williams” driver down.
#12 Gary Brand was also racing and so was #31y of “Rim Rider” Lee Fuller, who last week took to riding the wall, and giving the fans something to really think about.
Racing hard was #4 of Robin Collins who would grab a 4th place finish, not bad at all. #14 David Chapman would drive his heart out and believe it or not come up with a 5th place finish which is not back considering the drivers in the feature race.

But when the feature was over, and every fan was able to catch their breath, it was #31 Blake Griffin who would cross under the high flying “Double Checkered flags” and take home the $1000 dollars cash plus a trophy.

But also finishing a hard 2nd place was #17M of Mark Knight, who proved again he is a driver that is always one to be feared. If you have never met Mark, you are in for a surprise, as he is a “Gentle Humble Giant”.

That leaves me the 3rd place driver, “The Magic Man” Jeff Carter, who had the race in the bag, but the track was starting to come apart in places, and his handling was headed south, so he would be left for Knight and Griffin to pass him. If the race would have been caution free Carter could have picked up the cash and the top trophy, but he did finish in 3rd and he also received his first trophy and believe it are not that was his first trophy , probably one of many headed his way.
At the end of the race I met up with Jeff to hear his side of the story and like he said, the track went away and loosened up his car, and when that happens all you can really do is hang on and just hope to finish, and that is what he did and grabbed a 3rd place finish.

So the order of finish of the $1000 Dollar Cash B-Cadet feature was:

Winning #31 Blake Griffin

In 2nd place #17M Mark Knight

And in 3rd place was #3 Jeff Carter

Finishing in 4th place was #4 Robin Collins
And in 5th place was #14 of David Chapman

Fans came out to see all the racing action, and that was great for Jack Mills, Tony and Tim Moses not to mention all the great drivers who are proving Senoia Raceway is back.

Topless Limited Late Model drivers were there also, including last weekend Winner, #9 of Shane Fulcher
Who would again dominate New Senoia Raceway
, in the feature limited late model race. Giving him a real battle was #21C of Kenny “Quick” Collins, who was driving like a man on a mission. Running in 3rd place, who else but #99 Rucker Orr, one of the dominating powers in racing and we all know that Rucker’s time to win at Senoia will be here soon, you can’t keep Orr down he is too good a driver. After speaking with Rucker he told me he wanted his car to work on the bottom of the track but it just would not work there, by the time he was going to try the top groove he had just 3 laps remaining and Shane Fulcher had made his statement that no one was catching him not even #21C of Kenny Collins.

Rucker promises he will get his super fast #99 into the winners circle before the middle of the season, he just has some bugs to work out and when that happened he will be another proven Orr history maker.

Coming in 4th right behind Orr was “Racing Jason” Williams in #73 is always a man on a mission. Finishing 4th is not where Jason likes to end up but at least he would bring his car home in one piece.

Finishing in 5th place was #25 Scott Duffy who has his car back and running he just has not have the night he would like, but I look forward to Duffy breaking out of the mold of finishing toward the front and prove that he is a winner like he always has been. So come on Scott, like see the real Scott Duffy, one of the super young fine drivers.

In 6th place was none other than #27 of Glenn Morris, who loves having Senoia back to “Dirt”.

And in 7th place was young and talented #89 Carey Smith, who has been racing and is determined to win, and we all know he will, and I know when he does it will be a burden lifted off this young mans shoulders. Carey is one super young driver, when I met him at the gate as he was coming in, in said he had things just about right with his car. But he had this look well maybe I could win tonight, I looked at him and said don’t think you have a chance, go get the brass ring and win!

But when all the dust had settled and the double checkered flag was flying again it was #9 Shane Fulcher, who would take home the win.

So the order of finish was:

Winning #9 Shane Fulcher
In 2nd place was #21C of Kenny Collins who was giving Shane more than he wanted on this night.
In 3rd place was old favorite #99 Rucker Orr, and Orr is a driver that will be working hard to capture the prize, one day soon Rucker will be the car that takes a win at New Senoia Raceway.

The race that was another barn burner was the Pony Stock race, which featured some heavy hitters, including #16 Randy Blair, #7 Russell Bright, and last weeks winner #4 Dusty Jones, with #00 Matthew Black following Dusty.
The race was exciting because these boys’s can put on a show and a half and run only 15 laps.

Running also in this race was Dale Earnhardt Jr. look-a-like #5 Rocky Johnson
, who has always been tough. Johnson is a fan favorite, except his car is not hooked up right but when he is on he can be a winner.

#16 Randy Blair was riding in Evan “Ricky Bobby” Lancaster’s car crossing in front of #7 driven by hard charger Russell Bright. Bright was driving the #7 car for the first time, but you could have never imagined how well he handled his car, but then again he is a “Bright”.

I was pleased to speak with Russell prior to the race and he informed me this was his first night in the car, then he informed me of all the “Bright’s that race” including, Tim who drives the #T7 car, Billy who handles the #B7 car, Michael who can drive and is always in a race driving the #777 car.
Don’t forget #7B of Brandon Bright , and #D7 of Darrell Bright oh I know I am missing some more Bright’s but maybe I will list every one of their names and maybe they can hold their own feature race maybe we can call it “The Bright’s”.

Whatever the Pure Mini Feature again, proved it was a tough race and that’s all that matters, great driving and great excitement for the fans.

After Qualifying of the B-Cadet cars, the Nesmith Crate car and the Topless Limited Late Models it would be back to racing again.

The Nesmith Crate cars, took to the track and proved again why this is a super class.

#25 Justin McCree proved he was the man to beat in this super fast racing series
. Also racing was last weekend’s winner #77 Matthew Turner who would again drive his car to the max, but he would only walk away with a 2nd place finish, which is not bad when you are racing in good quality company.

#16 Tony “The Tiger” Kemp, who is always around at the end of the races, he is a pure out true champion, and when Tony’s car is on, he is a force that can’t be stopped. You don’t stop winning drivers.

Also in the race was #91 Guy Robinson who I have yet to meet, but he must be great to run with the best.

Like I said #25 Justin McCree, was showing his stuff as he took the lead in this hot crate race and never looked back, one thing I have learned and that is you never know who can and will win, when the big race is on the line.

That brings me to NEXT Sunday’s BIG Race at New Senoia Raceway, which will feature a 40 lap Late Model National Points Race with the Nesmith crate cars, Drivers from 8 states will be at Senoia raceway to race in this hot event paying $2000 cash.

REMEMBER it’s the Senoia Raceway Memorial Day Weekend Extravaganza “American Freedom 40” and will be held Sunday May 30th, 2010 with GATES opening at 2 P.M. and racing action starting at 4 P.M., there will also be a full racing program.

The Enduro race, which had a bounty on the head of #99 Mike Ray ended as he was beaten legally by #16 and a car driven by Austin Horton, it was a battle and a half with #38 leading most of the laps until, he lost his traction and Austin Horton blew by him, by Horton had to fend off Mike Ray at the checkered flag, when Ray lost control coming out of turn 4 and ended his race against the inside wall. So Austin picked up the regular winnings plus the $100 cash bounty. That ended the race and also ended my night as the electric went out and I lost all power to my camera. What gives?

Ok folks thanks for everything and remember tall DVD's of racing action can be purchased for $25.00 cash, and you can get all 7 features or I will make a copy of just the Crate cars and Late Models for drivers that ask. Just call me at 770-361-3019 any time, just ask for Tino, that's me and I will fix you up.

Thanks again,

Tino Patti

In some unrelated racing news we all need to send our prayers out to driver #25 of young Scott Duffy who has been having a time with his mother Sheron Duffy, who has Cancer and it is in her brain in spots now and the hospital is doing Chemo Theraphy on her. So please remember Scott Duffy's Mother in your prayers, no one wants to ever loose a parent, but sometimes the pain is so great it is better to let them go and be in peace than to suffer all the time and you can not do anything to help make them better, I know I lost my mother of all days on my birthday May 8th, 2005 and I still miss her.

Scott all the race fans at Senoia and everywhere are praying for you and your family in this difficult time.

Our prayers are with you from all of us at Plus Photography
