BLOGGING IS HELPFUL IN MY LIFE NOW

NEW SENOIA RACEWAY AND MORE...

MY BLINKER WENT OUT, CAN YOU FIX IT, PLEASE?

THE MORNING AFTER “MONDAY” MAY 9TH, 2011 AND SO WE GO AGAIN…

Blogging ended at 4 A.M. went to bed around 5 A.M. and now it’s a new day and I am up here with friends at Kips Automotive Shop in Douglasville, Georgia. Kip’s is the place to take your automobile when it’s sick or needs some plain out loving.

Kip did not make the show at New Senoia Raceway, because it was Mother’s day and he was showing his wife some loving by taking her out to stores to shop and get what she needed and wanted. He went Shopping, and took his wonderful wife out to eat, and that was what he likes best, to go out and eat.
That makes him number 1 to his wife Carman Stanfill.

Drivers are made of pure muscle and power and guts and glory and when they are racing are filled with a huge passion for winning in any way.

Some drivers come to race and have fun, and some drivers come to be part of the show, no matter how they get there when they are on the track they are the show.
There are also some drivers who tend to drive in the back, and these are the guys that are going to slow and sometimes get in the way of faster cars. Any time a driver see’s the flagman throw the move over flag that is what they are supposed to do, MOVE OVER and let the faster cars by, because this is what causes good race cars to be taken out a race.
Let’s see this weekend New Senoia Raceway plan’s on running a regular show, that’s right no “Outlaw Sprint Cars” , just the huge and intense Hobby car race plus the wild and woolly B-Cadet car race followed by the Crate Cars and then the Pure Mini and finally the Limited Late Models.
The Hobby car races are getting to become a fan favorite race, one reason is because of all the great drivers who enter this race. From drivers like #41 Scott Sherrer and #07 Clifton Moran, and also some extra great drivers like #K1 of Kip Stanfill, not to mention #33 of Rusty Johnson, plus #XII of Gary Brand.
And don’t forget #87 of the oldest driver in racing, a longtime favorite Pappy Powell. Who raced Bombers or Street Stock while at West Georgia Speedway and now is driving at New Senoia Raceway in the Hobby car features. Once you see Pappy there is no way you can forget this incredible driver who has years of racing experience behind his belt.

Also when you see Pappy you will see his dog, riding with him in his race car around the end field, the fans love to see Pappy and his dog, which has road with him as he circled the track prior to a race. So many small children are adults cannot believe that this 87 year old is still racing in a competitive sport as racing.

Scott Sherrer has what it takes to win, but Clifton Moran will not back up to anyone, add some extra drivers and you have an incredible Hobby feature that can’t be beat.

When the B-Cadet feature begins the crowd gathers themselves for another exciting race that is always one to watch because these are the drivers that have been around and know how to win, they are top class drivers.
Take the Bright’s both Billy Bright Sr. known as “The Legend” and his son Billy Bright Jr. known as “The Hotshot” these are drivers with years of racing experience behind them more so in the case of Billy Bright Sr. who knows how to win, and has raced at some of the best and worst race tracks in Georgia.
The Bright’s are known for “WINNING” and if they can’t win there has to be a reason, and they will work on the problem till it is fixed and they again are taking the checkered flag.
Then you have drivers who have been around racing and won some races and have so much to show it is incredible, like #3 of Jeff Carter from Stockbridge Georgia. Carter when he races brings in family, friends and crew members and that is why on the front of his truck his tag says “Big Money”.
When I first seen Jeff race it was at West Georgia Speedway in Whitesburg Georgia. In one special race I watched him while I was filming go from somewhere in the back to the front, and I shook my head and said who is this man, and I coined the phrase he was the “Magic Man”. Jeff has gotten better with age and being on so many tracks with so many class act drivers he learns and is still learning and that what makes the “Magic Man” my friend. He won the night that I was not filming due to the loss of my wife all I know as she was probably watching him win. Someone said there is a great view of all the dirt track racing in Heaven, I know she watched him WIN , Saturday night at New Senoia Raceway on May 7th, 2011. He battled both the Bright cars, and came out a pure winner.
The B-Cadet races have also become fan favorites but they can tear your heart out, just watching these drivers battle side by side, rubbing, pushing shoving and plain out trying to move the first place car. It can become heartbreaking, but that is why dirt track racing in the South is at its best.

New Senoia Raceway is also known for the fine food and people that care for each other, food is fresh and always reasonable, clean food and cold her hot drinks, their coffee is outstanding.

Then it’s time to see and watch those fantastic Crate Car late models, and the drivers come from every walk of life and also of every age.
Winning drivers like “The Zero Hero” Craig Scott, #91 of Todd Darda a pure out winning driver, then you have #89 of Phenix City’s Alabama, and a winning driver young gun Russ Ogletree. Watching these drivers, work their way to the front is always exciting and from where I am filming looks so demanding. One young man is only 14, yes you have read it right only 14 years old, and he drives with the best of the best. He is none other than #M96 of Marty Lunsford. This young man is so talented and I look forward to him breaking out and taking a win at Senoia Raceway, which will become a special night. Now all he looks forward to his loading his car back on the trailer with no work to be done, that is a great night for not only Marty but also from his Father Bobby.

Also running Crate is none other than #T7jr of Tim Bright and Tim is getting his fill of racing with some of the big guns. His Orange and white car looks great on the track and it is a work in progress for him.
He left the B-Cadet features to climb into the higher class of the Crate Car world. Winning is beyond his wildest dreams, but remember dreams are made in America every night at every short track in Georgia, or better in America.
On May 7th, 2011 Tim tangled with Marty in a spin coming out of turn 4, both drivers were ok and they went on to finish the race. One thing is for sure Marty and Tim or both living the American dream of racing with some of the high class drivers in this super field of drivers.

Later the field of small cars come onto the track for the Pure Mini feature, and features some of the South’s best drivers. Divers like #00 of Matt Black from Douglasville Georgia who has been proving he has the car to beat when racing at Senoia Raceway. Matt has taken 2 wins early in this season and has proved he can hold his own with the best. Also he is now the Points leader in the Pure Mini Class, and one time points leader #4 of Dusty Jones has sank to 5th in the points standing but that was only because he has not been racing since April 30th, 2011, when he was involved in a crash on the track was not his fault from this writer view point.
Maybe we will see #54 of Bo Chambers return after his car went up in a fire ball that burnt Chambers arms and shook him up.

Don’t worry, a driver like Bo will return you can’t keep a great driver down. Where is #16 Stephen Hill? This young driver could again dominate the Pure Mini class if he has his car ready to run like he did in the past.

Missing from the action on May 7th did not feature #13 of Gary Parker and #58 of Michael Parker who drove one week ago when he was the close racing action turned ugly when the car #58 tapped Dusty Jones who tapped the rear of Gary Parker causing him to spin and causing real problems.
Racing can get ugly at times, but drivers need to leave it on the track and not take their frustrations home.
Then the Limited Late Models would again supply the racing action at Senoia Raceway and this race also features some of the greatest drivers on dirt. Drivers like #9 Shane Fulcher, #21 of Joe Armistead Jr, #11 of Alabama’s Levon Sparks, #99 of Newnan’s own Rucker Orr, plus Glenn Morris, and #73 of Jason Williams, and missing from the action was #25 of Scott Duffy.

This weekend we are looking forward to seeing long time racing friend and pure winner, #21c of Kenny “Quick” Collins, so if you want to see a fantastic show so please be at New Senoia Raceway this weekend for some big time racing late model style.

Nice blog, and Bo (54) his arm and hands are healing up. Me and Gary are good, however was upset with the bad call at the race track on April 30. Others tried to say we were upset about the wreck but it wasn't that in fact after the race Gary and Dusty shook hands.I did notice that Gary (13) and Bo (54) was not on the list for favorite drivers to vote for.You did a good job with the blog other than that. Daddy Rabbit Racing #1 Let's go eat some dirt.
