OUTLAWS INVADE SENOIA

THE CLAY TAKES ON A NEW MEANING, AS OUTLAW SPRINTS INVADE SENOIA RACEWAY AS OUTLAWS INVADE THE 3/8TH DIRT TRACK

If you like “FAST” cars with over 700 HP and travel in excess of 120 mph, then the USCS Outlaws were right up alley so to say, and New Senoia Raceway was the place to be.
JOHNNY BRIDGES TAKES HOME THE UNITED SPRINT CAR SERIES MAIN AT NEW SENOIA RACEWAY, Johnny Bridges blew everyone away as he drove his #07 from the lead to the finish. Bridges is from Cherryville, N.C. his only challenge was from Georgia’s Matt Linder who was chasing Bridges but the laps ran out as the race was cut from 30 laps to 25 due to so many cars going out of the race. Sometimes we wonder if Bridges could have held of Linder but that we will all have to do is wonder. They will show up at New Senoia Raceway for a huge 2 day show in August 2011.

In the famous Summit Racing Equipment Hobby feature here is what happened….

The Features at New Senoia Race started with a “BANG” as the Hobby cars pulled onto the track and there we had the Champion #41 Scott Sherrer but also in the race were two blue and white cars, which belonged to Clifton Moran with his famous #07 on the sides. Moran is better known as “HOG HEAD” and his driving style is unique. Beat and bang is something Clifton does best and if you don’t want your car rubbed stay out of his way, because Clifton is all about winning. Sherrer is not used to losing and Moran is padding his points with every win he grabs but even when Scott Sherrer’s car went up in smoke he still battled and took 2nd place in this fantastic Hobby race. Finishing in 3rd place was Frankie “ELMO” Roberts and coming in 4th place was Drew Roberts.

Then the Newnan Bond B-Cadets to show what they had!

Then the B-Cadets came roaring onto the track, all eyes were set on 4 cars and they were #17 of Marcus Caswell, a well-known and liked driver. Then there was the #3 of “Big” Jeff Carter and then we had the 2 cars in Orange and White of Billy Bright Sr. and his son Billy Bright Jr. both cars sporting the famous #B7 on the sides the only difference was that Jr. has a B7jr on his car.
One thing is for sure the fans were up on their feet for this exciting race. Jeff Carter has won 1 race this 2011 season while the Bright’s have been suffering with all kinds of mechanical problems. They have yet to capture a win, which is not like the Bright’s, they are used to winning.
On the final lap which was getting close, Billy Bright Jr. tried to pass Jeff Carter but Jr put his nose to deep into turn 1 and he spun. This would put the pressure on the Sr. Bright which had to swerve around his Son. He tried so hard to chase down the #3 car of Jeff Carter, but tonight belonged to Jeff Carter and all the rubbing and bumping could not let Billy Bright Sr. “Known as THE LEGEND” get around Carter and his super-fast B-Cadet car.

after taking the checkered flag, Jeff Carter pulled his winning #3 car around to have his picture taken and get the famous interview. Carter exited his car with to a huge crowd ovation and in a way he is becoming a fan favorite. How long can his winning streak last, only the BIG MAN himself knows for sure?
One thing for sure I know the Bright’s will go back to the drawing board to work out the kinks in their race cars, once they find the winning combination well the races are on. They should be a force that could be unstoppable, but don’t tell Jeff Carter that.

In the Pure Mini race we were minus Points leader #4 Dusty Jones who stayed away from the track for some unknown reason. Jones has been winning until he was in a confrontation last week with another driver when it was a pure racing accident and was not the fault of Jones whose car was pinched by #58 of Michael Parker and Jones taped the #13 of Gary Parker sending him spinning. The entire accident was caught on video by me. So when Dusty Jones dropped out of the race that would give the win to the comeback kid Douglasville’s own Matt Black in his #00 orange car. This win was on April 30th 2011, Black would again capture his 2nd win on May 7th, 2011 will fighting off a hard battle from car #58 of Frank Long who is a champion in his own right when he raced Modified Mini Stocks races. Coming in 3rd place was “The Original” Dorough Bright.
This win puts Matt Black atop the Points leader board as he races into history. Not making the show was #16 of Stephen Hill, why we do not know. We do know that Matt Black will return this weekend to New Senoia Raceway to try and hang onto his points lead. We wonder if Dusty Jones will return are again stay home?

Ok fans “ROAR” as the CROWN SECURITY CRATE LATE MODEL RACE

And coming on the track was April 30th’s winner “The Zero Hero” Craig Scott. But Scott would have his hands full with Phenix City Alabama’s young gun Russ Ogletree and his #88 car which was showing all the power it could have. The trouble was he had Craig Scott trying to beat on his car and try and upset him in some way that would give Craig the chance he needed to pass him. No matter what Scott did, Russ would not have been moved. Also racing were champion drivers like Todd Darda, and young gun, 14 year old #M96 of young Marty Lunsford. Also in the race was #T7jr of Tim Bright, who had a bad race on the 30th of April and seemed to have everything in control, until he spun. To me Marty and Tim are spinning too much and once they finish the race in one piece it will be a feat that they will remember also. Again Russ Ogletree is proving he is a driver that has to be reckoned with where ever he races.

Fans have you visited the food concession stand and grabbed some hot food from the New Senoia Raceway Hotdogs, to their famous Hamburgers plus world famous Chicken Sandwich’s plus the outstanding fries, and lots of cold drinks NO NEED TO STOP OFF AT MICKEY D’S ARE ANY OTHER FAST FOOD RESTURANT, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND EAT AT A PRICE YOU CAN HANDLE AT NEW SENOIA RACEWAY AND THEIR FINE CONCESSION STAND. Food with a SMILE is what you will get always.

Then it was time for the LATE MODEL FEATURE brought to you by, MIKE WHEELERS Automotive and Transmission Late Model Feature.

The drivers were huge in this race, like #21 of Little Joe Armistead Jr, plus #99 of Rucker Orr and then you had fan favorites like #9 of Shane Fulcher and #11 Levon Sparks, and #73 of “Racing” Jason Williams who would battle car problems all night something Williams is not used to having.
Also in the race was #28 of legendary driver Glenn Morris who has been racing at Senoia for years.
These top drivers put on a 25 lap blistering show, with Orr in front and Armistead Jr chasing him down, it seemed like a matter of time when he would soon pass Orr but that was not to happen as the laps counted down.
When the checkered flag went flying it was the #99 of Rucker Orr taking the win, the crowd gathered at the fence to hear Rucker speak about his win, but as the crowd filed out his car was taken under protest and checked when all was finished Orr was DISQUALIFIED and the win was given to #21 Little Joe Armistead Jr.

Thanks for reading my BLOGS and I am trying to get back to the basics of living in a life without my precious wife, who I miss and love.

She may not be with me now but she is with me at New Senoia Raceway every time I film as I wear her wedding band on my small finger next to my wedding ring. THANKS TO EVERYONE
